We have been coming to happy garden for over 20 years. It’s a small mom and pop Chinese takeout store. Great service, great food. The restaurant portion used to be open a long time ago but not for a few years, especially now in the post COVID world that we live in. 5 stars for consistently good food, we have since moved from Watertown but we drive 30 minutes to keep getting the great food that they serve. I highly recommend.

I feel bad writing a review because you never know what a business is going through or those working in those conditions. But poor condition shouldn’t be where food is being prepared. The food tasted and looked old and gel like sauce, I tossed majority of the order away and only ate the rice it came with. I hope they find better management. It’s not the workers fault but definitely no one should consume food from here. I should have read the reviews before ordering. They have bad reviews about the same complaints going back 8 years and nothing has changed. I’m new to the area, and shocked by the conditions.

Always order take out and coming from NY this is the most NY Chinese food I’ve found in the area. The food had flavor and they put a ton of duck sauce. I’m leaving this review after I’ve had take out at least 10 times over the past 6 months. Will 100% order take out again.

I hate to leave bad reviews but i have no idea how this place is still open. The food taste is good (depending on what you order), the amounts are terrible and over price. My daughter ordered chicken wings with french fries for $5.74; she only got 2 1/2 wings (1 looked like a bone covered with skin) and 10 fries. Down the road at BK you get the chicken fries with med fries for $3 and not only brings more but it taste better. We wont EVER go there again, this has happened the last 3 times (trying to give them the benefit of the doubt), no more we ARE done

The food is edible but not enjoyable.
Do NOT get the dragon and Phoenix! There is very little shrimp mixed in with a ton of vegetables all of which is drenched in an awful tangy sauce. Not a quality place (possibly the worst Chinese food I’ve had) and they left out part of our take out order. I plan to avoid this place.

I’m not one to leave bad reviews, especially on Chinese because it’s my favorite comfort food, but the food here is awful. My family and I recently moved to Watertown, and today we ordered from Happy Garden at around 5 o’clock for dinner. We got a couple combo dinners, and we’re unhappy to say the least. My boneless ribs were chewy, fatty, and just generally tasted poor. Her beef teriyaki had slices of onion on the stick for some reason, like it was trying to impersonate real beef. The pork fried rice tasted “like dirt” according to my fiance. Sorry guys, but I’d stay away from this place.

Always my first choice when it comes to Chinese food. A very wide selection at a very reasonable price (always nice when your feeding a family) with the freshest ingredients and the most Krisp flavors. Nice for a Saturday night home with the family for dinner and a movie.

The first couple of times we ordered from Happy Garden (in the plaza next to Taco Bell), we were very satisfied. However, the third time we ordered, my husband placed the order, specifying that he is allergic to mushrooms. When we got home with the food, there were mushrooms in it. My husband called to let them know, and the woman he spoke with was very rude and basically told him he was out of luck. I took the order and drove back down, explaining that we’d called and I wanted the order replaced. She was again very rude to me, insisting that we hadn’t specified no mushrooms and telling me she wouldn’t take it back. I simply stood there quietly while she yelled at me, then I placed the order on the counter. She finally replaced it with a mushroom-free order, but I will never give them my business again.
