A District designated Main Street business, His & Hers offers a casual American flare with a warm and comfortable atmosphere, showing love to the community by being a communal spot where they host a variety of entertainment options. From Karaoke to Jazz, Paint & Sip to the perfect place to host your party or event. His & Hers was founded and is operated by DC native Paul Winestock who is also the founder and director of the youth-focused nonprofit Saving Our Next Generation. The service and vibe were fine, but that’s where the positives end. The drinks were disappointing across the board—flat, unbalanced, and not enjoyable. What really threw us off, though, was the water. It tasted awful, like something was seriously wrong with the plumbing or filtration. That alone was enough to make us question the place, and after trying a couple of cocktails, we decided not to risk ordering any food. If they can’t get the basics right, it doesn’t inspire much confidence in the rest of the menu.

This restaurant was a 10 out of 10. Our waitress Aniyah (sorry if that’s wrong) was sweet. She gave us shot for my bday. The crab stuffed salmon was delicious. The seafood rice could have been a dish by itself. To top it off, we met a local who is a regular that bought us a drink on our way out..

I really had high hopes for this restaurant. After seeing earlier reviews on IG and Facebook, I put it on my “restaurants to try” list. My bff took me here for my belated bday lunch and needless to say, it was a huge disappointment. We literally were the only customers in the restaurant for the entire time we were there. I would give them the benefit of the doubt since it was the day before the snowstorm, but I digress. We got the spinach dip appetizer which was awful! It was literally frozen spinach with cheese melted on top. However, the star of the dish was the toasted pita chips that came with it. 0/10 do not recommend! For the entree, I got the lamb (big mistake) and she got a ceasar salad. The salad was just a salad so you can’t mess that up really. I ordered my lamb medium and it came out well done (Booooo to the chef for messing up a quality piece of meat like that). While I will say it was super-tender, it lacked any real flavor or flavorful juices. It was topped with onions and peppers which was extremely odd, but I love veggies so what the heck. The mashed potatoes were…well….mashed and the spinach had lots of garlic making it edible. I will say that despite the lackluster food, the service was great. They were very welcoming and attentive. Again, maybe that’s due to us being the only people in there or just how they are on the regular. Needless to say, I don’t think I’ll be back but invite anyone who would like to try them for themselves, to do so. Maybe your tastebuds will have a better time than mine did. I wish them well.

Do not miss this spot!!! The food was INCREDIBLE! I am obsessed! I got the Cajun Pasta with steak, and my husband got the sliders and catfish tenders. Everything was delicious. Their cocktails were yummy, and they’re served strong! The staff were all so sweet and kind, and we even were talked to by the owner. I am definitely going back before we head home to AVL.

This place is good sometimes and horrible sometimes. The first time I went in they got my order wrong. Every server acts like they don’t want to be here. No enthusiasm at all and quick to get back on there phone. One waiter was even walking around cleaning tables with one hand and the phone in the other staring at the phone. The Hispanic cook lady is the only reason I come back she is pleasant, hard working and Always kind. She’s always Intentive to my needs and enthusiastic. Beside the front people treating the dining area like it’s their living room and acting like they don’t want to be there. The food is good.

The place is cute. I love the interior design. Someone put a lot of thought and love into it. It makes the place seem cozy. When you pull-up the expectation is a little deceiving from the outside, but the inside is too cute. Parking is on a major street, so it may be a little iffy.
The service was good. The drinks were cute and tasty and the food was very good. I had a Henny Sidecar, an order of lemon pepper wings (fried hard), and the crab stuffed salmon with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. My friend ordered the catfish fingers, which were also good.
They have Karaoke on certain nights, which happened to be when I visited, and that was so much fun. The DJ was great, and there were a lot of talented singers that participated. I will visit His & Hers again!

0 stars! Do not waste your time! I was unable to make a same day reservation (Saturday 7:15pm) online so I called the restaurant to make one. The lady stated they closed at 10pm and a reservation was not needed. Help me understand how at 6:50pm, when my party arrived, the employee stated the kitchen was closed? How so? You close at 10pm, right?! This restaurant will not last with this level of poor customer service.

Amazing spot! I was taking class at the Capoeira Spot and found this place nearby during my lunch break. The owner was working the bar with two other individuals and was super kind! The food was delicious. Some of the best grits I’ve had. The atmosphere is so calming. I recommend coming here!

The people are so nice, I’m honestly disappointed. I tried this place 2 days in a row, and was disappointed in the food each time. I ordered the chicken and waffle the first time, the chicken didn’t taste seasoned. I ordered the catfish po boy and an appetizer of catfish nuggets. Both which were supposed to have a side of sweet chili sauce *per the menu*. The catfish nuggets were extremely small and tasteless. No sweet chili sauce with neither dish. The people are warm and welcoming, the aesthetic is trendy and they have a good selection of spirits at the bar.

Two things I didn’t know I neeeeeded to have. Salmon on deviled eggs and the lemon pepper wings from this place. The wings had flavor all the way through. The drinks was ok but the food and service was phenomenal. Next time I go in going to try the honey lemon pepper.
