The food was disappointing. The mac and cheese lacked flavor and tasted like pepper water. The dressing had a ton of pepper as well which threw me off. The lima beans lacked flavor completely. The sweet tea gave unsweetened tea. The only served big pieces of fried chicken. Most importantly they had a beautiful key lime cake out. It was so dry and hard. I rubbed my fiber across and no icing came off. It was so hard like it had been out for a while even though it was wrapped up. I found that to be very disrespectful. Even if you can’t season food , it should still be fresh. The service was fine and the people were nice but I would like my 22$ back.

Edit.. I wish I could have said something to the owner. He sat at one table the entire time very close to us. Attempts to voice concerns were made.

We took a drive back to McCormick from RIDGEVILLE which is not far from Charleston to Southern Soul for our Thanksgiving meal and it was quite a spread . Chef Wilbert Holmes is the best host ever. We enjoyed a great meal and live music . Go and support this great family and his business!

Absolutely delicious. Service is top notch. Lunch buffet is by far the best. Amazing and fresh fried chicken, ribs, fried steak, variety of sides plus so, so, so much more. Everything homemade and you can definitely tell.

Wow wow wow!!! If you like southern cooking you are in for a treat!!! So much to say. Pasta salad was the best id ever had couple that with the stewed tomatoes, fried chicken Mac and cheese you’ve got yourself a to die for meal. The service is over the top. Katrina was an awesome waitress. Sweet southern tea and a buffet for any hunger.

Stopped in on a Monday afternoon while visiting the area. My oldest and I got the lunch buffet while my husband and younger child got cheeseburgers. The food was very good. The buffet items were fresh and the salad bar was crisp. I can’t speak to the desserts because I had more fried chicken for my dessert!
They have very good sweet tea and they kept our glasses full.
Wonderful service, they checked on us throughout to make sure everything was good.

Our server Shunda greeted us when we walked in & was very attentive to our needs & requests. Salad bar was small but good, everything was fresh.
Buffet appeared to be left overs, watered down rice, mashed potatoes & mac n cheese. Chicken livers were cold, fried chicken was undercooked & bloody inside. Smothered porkchops were hard and old. I was looking forward to some home cooked southern soul, unfortunately I was very disappointed. The owner made excuses & was not apologetic in the least. We own a catering business so we do know bloody undercooked chicken from smoked pink chicken.
We visited based on reviews however I would not recommend the lunch Buffet.
My husband tried a burger off the menu and said it was ok.

I had such high hopes for this place. We went Friday for the crab legs and buffet. There was no fried fish except for some scraggly looking whole catfish, no fried shrimp. They forgot our crab legs and i finally had to go ask where they were. Once they did come they were terrible. No meat and just soggy with soggy soft shells. I see now that they were more of a low country boil but crab legs should snap when you bend them, not fold. For $100 bucks i feel totally robed. If you go make sure you check out the line first and make sure you think it’s worth it.

Amazing food but even better is the family that runs it. I was passing through and will stop by if I am in the area again.

We went Friday night for crab legs and buffet it was my first time there but it will not be my last. The crab legs and food was so good. Some of the nicest and friendliest people I ever met. They made you feel welcome and made sure you had everything you needed. And did I mention the food was outstanding.
