Went to Elmwood to meet a friend for a little second-hand shopping and thought perhaps we’d find a beverage and chat before heading back home… locals said “The Quonset” so we wandered down the block, walked in, and seated ourselves at the bar. It was about 5:30 on a Friday night, and folks were seated at tables and ordering food and drinks. It was starting to pick up but not packed or anything. There appeared to only be one person front of house and she was making drinks behind the bar.
Here’s where I’m disappointed: I’ve worked counter service in a very busy coffee shop/music venue, and I’ve done it by myself. I COMPLETELY understand not getting immediate service. My companion, likewise, has worked as a bartender… literally all I would have asked for here is a “Hey there, I’ll be with you in just a few minutes.” That’s it. Acknowledgement would have sufficed. There was none until she was ready to take an order. It almost felt like we were being deliberately ignored.
When we arrived there were two gentlemen waiting on the other side of the bar, and they appeared to not have been served either, and they got up and walked out before we were spoken to.
We ended up with very simple plug n play beverages, and decided against any food since we’d already waited a solid 10 minutes or more for service, so I can’t comment on the food quality.
Atmosphere overall is about like most small town bar and grills, nothing exceptional or detracting there.
Restroom was clean and had a basket of hand lotion and body spray on the counter. Bonus points for the Patrick Swayze Road House picture on the ladies room wall.
Maybe they were having a rough start to dinner service, I don’t know… I’d like to try again on a future trip to see if it was just an off night. The woman who helped us was nice enough once she noticed our existence. Just a very unfortunate first impression.

I have always had a great experience, the food is always delicious, the prices aren’t too expensive, I can walk there with ease, they are always friendly and at times I get lost in conversations with the owner, she’s a very nice lady.
I mostly get to go but when I do dine in, it’s a great atmosphere and even some other people will spark up conversations, everyone has always been so friendly.
Finally the portion sizes are amazing, cheap massive amounts of food, the burgers and chicken are great sized and with all the toppings and fries it will make you full, all the wings and their flavors are amazing and you can order alot, you can get so much nachos that you’ll feel sick from eating too much, the French fries are amazing but eat then while their still warm, honestly I have eaten almost everything on their menu and I have never been dissatisfied.

Small town bar with usual menu items but just as good. A little quiet for lunchtime but didn’t have to wait long for my food and everything was hot and perfectly seasoned. I’m picky about my fries and these were just right. The burger was a good size and tasted great.
