My wife and I had dinner here last night and enjoyed a perfect experience. Norfolk doesn’t have many authentic Indian options, so it’s well worth the short drive to Port Dover.
The flavors were outstanding across the board. I love spicy curries with real heat, while my wife requested no spice at all. This gave us the chance to taste everything from the mildest sauces to the spiciest—and every single dish was packed with incredible flavor. Even the mild base sauces were rich and complex.
The spice level in the hotter curries was exactly what I look for: a gentle build that never overwhelms and keeps you coming back for more. I ordered the Chicken Korma but asked to substitute goat, and the kitchen happily accommodated my request. The garlic naan was exceptional—perfectly foldable with crisp edges, generous garlic, and just the right amount of oil.
Even the small details impressed us. The napkins were thoes thick “cloth like” ones, and neatly folded around the cutlery in a unique and elegant way.
I honestly can’t think of anything negative… Finding the washroom was a fun little adventure—it’s downstairs, and you walk past what looks like someones iving room. If you feel like you’ve gone too far, you’re on the right path—just keep walking!
If you’re anywhere near Port Dover and love Indian food—or simply great food—make the trip. You won’t regret it!
4 Adults and my 7 year old grand daughter.
The service was exceptional! The attention to detail and the care given to my granddaughter was truly remarkable. We started with the appetizer platter. Which was an assortment or samosas , onion bhajis , vegetable pakoras, lasooni gobi, fish pakoras accompanied by a chutney and mint sauce. At this point my grand daughter was anxious and wanted her main right away. The owner comes out with miniature platter of naan, butter chicken and rice children’s serving!! What a lovely and caring thing to do!
The flavours pared together were perfect! The heat levels as requested!
At the end of the meal the owner generously brought out a mango cheesecake with a candle and had happy birthday playing for me. What a lovely gesture!!
The mains were just as delicious. The tandoori chicken tikka was perfectly seasoned, tender and the flavours just danced in your mouth! The butter chicken was so tasty we could drink the sauce !!!!!
The kadai chicken, vegetable korma and creamy coconut curry all a 10 !!!
We shared some desert to end a perfect meal. All the flavours very authentic and made fresh!!!!
This little diamond is a must go to!!!! Highly recommend and will definitely be back many times.
Definitely will be coming back to try some more dishes
Never thought I’d find authentic Indian flavors by the lake, but Curry House in Port Dover proved me wrong — and in the best way!
Went with friends for a cozy dinner and we feasted like royalty. Started with a hot, comforting Manchow Soup, then came the main event: my rich and flavorful Paneer Biryani with soft, buttery naan. My friends went all in with Creamy Coconut Chicken and an aromatic Goat Biryani — both absolute showstoppers.
We wrapped it up with the sweetest ending — Rasmalai that just melted in the mouth.
From the warm ambience to the depth of flavors, this place is a hidden gem in Port Dover.
Curry House — 100% worth the trip!
