The Kala Sheep – superb, friendly and excellent food.
We were drawn here for the Bangladeshi aspect of the food and we unusually ate for a while in silence, completely savouring every bite and working what to attack next.
Excellent menu, fantastic value and authentic and professional staff and owners.
I am disabled and they took such great care of me as if I was their own family member.
From booking on their website to savouring the very last bite of the meal I cannot fault any aspect of the restaurant at all.
I cannot wait to return again with everyone I know as I will feel pleasant to be able to bring people knowing that they will have zero disappointments.
Well done to all the team and the owners should be proud to have an establishment that will take you so far and know that you can come for a complete reset on the week and bring our celebrations to you.
The Sunday banquet was such great value with no limitations.

Me and the son popped in on the off chance of a decent Indian meal and we were both completely blown away!!
It’s beautifully decorated, welcoming and spacious.
The waitress was incredibly attentive despite being busier than expected. But the best bit was by far the food. This has to be the best Indian food I’ve tasted outside of India!! Good sized portions too, and they offered us boxes to take what we didn’t polish off home.
I highly recommend the Kala Sheep and will definitely will be back

We dropped by on our way home from Holkham to Hastings East Sussex, the food was on another level, absolutely loved it, if we were locals we would go there every week, the staff/waitresses were so nice, made us feel very welcome, excellent 5*****

Place was amazing! Had the Chicken Tikka Chilli Masala and the owner recommemded the special Butter Chicken (not on the menu). Staff was also super friendly and helpful. Definitely going back soon!

Tandoori chicken tikka I had was cooked to perfection and the meat really tender,
The others in my group had a variety of different dish and were all great, well cooked rice and sides, only slight recommendation rather than a complaint is the chips aren’t great too thin, but this is just personal preference I suppose! Some might like this but too crispy for us. Overall excellent pace and will definitely return next time we are in Newmarket

We have just had the most amazing Meal in this Resteraunt, Sunday Evening Banquet! Consists of Poppadoms & Pickles, any Starter (I had Chicken Tikka, Wife had Chicken Chat) any Main (Tandoori Mixed Grill and a Chicken, Lamb and Potato dish from the Specials list) any Side (Bumbay Aloo and Sag Aloo) Rice or Naan.
Everything was served hot, tastey, fresh and plenty of it. The Staff couldn’t be helpful enough.
We will be returning.

amazing food i’ve never had a bad meal!! highly recommend the ziyaan special it comes with a lovely crispy onion bhaji in the middle and the sauce is creamy and lovely. amazing staff too and speedy delivery

It was our first time to get a take away from Kala sheep. It was just so delicious!!! My dish was Lamb biriyani came with mild veg curry. The flavour was perfect. The lamb was nicely soft too. I’m glad that we have this lovely Indian place in Newmarket. The restaurant people were really sweet as well. We definitely will return.

Ordered at 5pm to receive between 7:15-7:30pm as we were having work done at the house and would be very hungry after. For some bizarre reason, our food did not arrive until 8:15 leaving us absolutely starving. Had to call the restaurant only to be hung up on when asking where our food was. Very strange behaviour considering I had booked a slot 3 hours prior.
When the food arrived it was lukewarm. Every dish tasted watered down and had no flavour. Probably the worst takeaway we have ever had, we are extremely disappointed we wasted £75 on it.
If you’re getting a takeaway be prepared to wait and extra hour for delivery (even though it says 1 hour on the website), and cold, bland food.
Back to Montaz for us!
