I delivered to the area and found my way to Sandusky afterward. Talked to a few people and asked where a good breakfast place was. Both said MainStreet Cafe. Off I went. Walked in and was met by a great personality by the name of Michele, who was also my waitress. I opted for the Southern Omelet and wheat toast. Take a look at the pic. HUGE Omelot with black coffee and toast….Only TEN bucks!

I absolutely cannot believe this restaurant literally closes down for catering. Every weekend like clockwork, they close. Don’t depend on this place being open. Call ahead.

If I could give zero stars, I would! I decided to try a small-town, sit-down diner for Mother’s Day with my mom because I enjoy supporting local businesses—but I’ll never return to this one.
At first glance, the place was very outdated. There were no signs indicating whether to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. We waited about five minutes before a waitress came over to ask what we would like to drink. She brought our drinks, asked if we wanted menus, and handed us a single, printed page that looked hastily thrown together. We were told there were “limited options,” but in reality, the only option was the buffet at $13.95 per person.
We glanced at the buffet before deciding to try it—it looked decent, but looks were deceiving. The breaded mushrooms bizarrely tasted like French toast. The shrimp was mushy and flavorless. The cheesy potatoes were bland. The turkey tasted like a frozen Banquet meal—chewy and rubbery. The bacon and sausage links were tough and clearly not fresh. The scrambled eggs and sausage gravy tasted pre-made, reheated, and just as flavorless as everything else. Nothing had any taste. I considered trying the dessert but decided against it.
When we paid, we were asked how everything was. We were honest and said it was horrible. We even asked if the mushrooms were supposed to taste like French toast. They said no, and guessed they may have been cooked in the same oil. That explanation made no sense—since when is French toast deep-fried?
There was no apology, no empathy, and no attempt to make things right. Instead, we got a shrug and a “Hope you have a better day!” Horrible food and even worse customer service. I’d steer clear of this one!

And I ordered the jalapeno burger, but got it on a pretzel bun which normally doesnt come with and it was delicious
And they serve breakfast all day long which most people love

Oh wow! Absolutely horrible Mother’s Day brunch was a joke. The breaded mushrooms taste it like French toast. Cold food. Cheesy potatoes were tasteless when I was asked how was everything I was honest and told them I was going to be honest I asked why the breaded mushrooms taste like French toast and they told me that they were probably cooked in the same oil. For 1395 we got nothing back we did not even attempt to go for a second round.

This has been the 4th time we looked up on online to see if they are open and go there. Just for the doors to be locked and lights on. It’s a Saturday at 12pm. Maybe you should change your online hours. It’s pretty frustrating to waste my time for a place never opened

Just had catering for 20 from Main Street. Food was abundant and excellent! Everyone was full. We had so many leftovers our friends came back for the Lion’s game, again the food was definitely the highlight of the game! Thank you Dave and staff, excellent job!

Mainstreet Cafe catered for my parents’ celebration of life this past Saturday, and they did a fantastic job. Amount was perfect (150 people), service was impeccable, and the food was excellent. Everything was all ready when we arrived for lunch after the service, and at the end the leftovers were all packed up for us to take for the evening meal with out-of-town family. A huge thank you to Dave and his team!
