We really loved the taste of every dish we ordered here. Every dish was made with special care it felt like, and very savory. We started with chat appetizers, and ended with rasmalai, gulab jamun and kheer. Everything was made fresh and well cooked. The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 is because I felt we were given less food per plate than we thought we would get. But no other complains. Definitely recommend.

Waitress was really friendly and she helped me a lot of the menu items when we asked! Best food . There Malabar chicken curry was fantastic the chicken was extremely tender and the curry was very flavorful. I got to say there Garlic naan was hit the spot…. Soft .All were excellent. Everything on the menu is outstanding. We will be regular visitors here for sure

The food is consistently great (I have been there many times!). It was worth the drive, especially for take out. You can dine in as well, however, the service could be better. If you lower your expectations of the quality of service and focus on the quality of the food, you will enjoy it.

I had been there almost 3 years ago, and did not think much of it. It was developed as a fast food joint, and had very little to offer. But I visited this place again recently, and noticed that it has been transformed into a very nice dine-in restaurant. The owner was friendly, and the menu was quite solid, with some South-Indian favorites such as Dosa. The service was good. I only wish that as they grow, they would offer a few more South-Indian dishes, since that option does not exist in this part of CT.

We have gone here for several years and I may have written another review raving about it. However, incredibly disappointed tonight.

Food tasted fantastic as always but I was missing an order of Naan and only had half a container of rice. In addition, it said it was going to be ready an hour. On a whim, I went in at 30 minutes and it was quite done and almost cold.

Service has gone downhill and for the price,, i am not sure we will be back

Updating my review from 3 years ago because the world changed:

The food is still good and I ordered lamb curry and garlic naan. Ordered it spicy and it was spicy. The portion size was enough for me and the rice helped to fill any empty space. Wish I splurged on the crunchy bread and chutney as extras, because I miss that stuff.

The restaurant was lonely when I arrived and just one person was working inside, which is a sad testament to the times we live in, but not the fault of the restaurant. I miss seeing Indian restaurants full of life and people dining.

Aside: I miss the variety of Indian buffets, but I guess the world moved on from this format. Maybe one day in the far future people will be nostalgic for them, and they will return. Maybe there are more people like me out there right now that miss the buffets, and don’t dine out so much anymore? Who knows…

I have tried many Indian restaurants around new haven since I moved to this location last year. Punjabi Kadhai serves delicious food at fair price. I loved most of the dishes they serve especially during the lunch buffet. Restaurant is clean and owners are very nice as well. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try good Indian food.

Casual atmosphere, modern interior. Above average food — the chickpea salad is especially noteworthy. I had a lamb rogan josh that was delicious, but I would call its spiciness medium-hot despite the menu describing it as mild. (It was too hot for some of my friends.) Both our waitresses were helpful, quick and kind. My one suggestion would be to encourage the waitresses to speak a little louder — my friends on the far side of the booth had trouble hearing you. Everything else about your service was excellent

Good food. Serving halal meet in their buffet.
Price is affordable for lunch buffet. Good numbers of items in their buffet. They need to improve their service. In sweet dish, there is only one item and they call it kheer which nothing more than milk and rice not mixed together. You can drink milk out of it very easily.
