Does anyone have any info on Don Antonio in Larkspur? : r/Marin

The original owner Antonio sold the restaurant and new owner’s are remodeling/possibly real re-concepting (so I’m not sure what exactly they bought?)

Really enjoyed our meal on Friday. Nice setting for a quiet lunch. We split an appetizer of Arancini which was wonderful with a mini salad on the plate. My wife continued with a Cesare Salad. Very nice with fresh grilled chicken. I had a daily special, the Risotto de Mare which also had a nice variety of fresh grilled seafood. With a side of house bread with oil and Basalmic vinegar for the table, there was no room for dessert. Parking was a little tough during the lunch hours. Service was quick with the food, spotty with the drink refills, but the customer load was increasing while we dined.
I would recommend Don Antonio for quiet lunch or dinner.

Intimate and friendly, the food here is divine. The homemade lasagne, the lobster risotto and the La Bomba dessert are not to be missed. Live music on Thursday is delightful and joyous. Check this place out!

After a very long time, I was happy after having food in an Italian restaurant as a vegetarian. The staff was very friendly and had a nice chat with Alfredo our waiter.

❤️ Arancini – fried pesto cheese rice balls with romesco sauce – it was superb, delicious, loved it.
Pesto Pasta was great too. I rarely find pesto pasta in Italian restaurants in the Bay Area so I was just happy to have the option itself but it turned out to be good taste wise too.

My friend loved his Lemon flavored pastry dessert. I don’t like lemon flavored sweets so no comments from my side there.

Will definitely go there again just for the Arancini

From “happy accident” to I can’t wait to come back again. I had the pork chop Milanese and it was wonderful.

We were really pleasantly surprised by this place. Decided to stop in on a whim and so glad we did. Good service and ambiance. We had the calamari, carbonara and limoncello for desert. Everything was very fresh and delicious. Noodles tasted homemade. The prices were super reasonable for Marin- an appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert was under $90. Will definitely come back again

I loved this place. We ended up in Larkspur trying to find a place for dessert. The staff was very warm and welcoming and greeted us well. I have a nut allergy, so finding dishes without nuts is hard in general, but the staff definitely helped us find a dish that was good for us. The food was amazing. I loved how the portion size for the gelato was just the right amount to fill me up for dessert. I also love the orchestra playing nearby, and it adds to the nice small downtown restaurant effect. Overall, this place was amazing, and I’m glad I found it.

Celebrated our son’s birthday with an early Friday night dinner. Food was great—no issues but service made us feel very rushed. We couldn’t complete a sentence without some asking if we wanted an appetizer, if we were ready to order, if we finished our food, if we wanted the desert menu, etc. Three of us were in and out in 50 minutes so really couldn’t enjoy the birthday experience we were looking for. We assumed the big rush was on since no one was eating outside (too cold night so fewer places to sit overall), and we were early so the evening goal was to increase seating turnover for a busy Friday evening. Shame really. Recommend going later in the evening to reduce the rushed atmosphere. Food was great and owner was very pleasant.

Went here on Mother’s Day for dinner, towards the end of the night. The owner, as I came to found out, tried to seat us at a dirty table when we first arrived. That was the beginning of the night. Thankfully for him our server was delightful. She was really amazing and super pleasant/friendly. Not sure if they were running out of mash potato, but the plate looked a little lacking. Not impressed.
