Absolutely loved this burger joint! We ordered “the foursome” to sample every burger, and each one was packed with flavor. The Cowgirl stood out as our favorite, but honestly, all of them were incredible. The milkshakes are rich and perfectly creamy. The owner was incredibly welcoming, and chatting with him about his vision for the restaurant was such a highlight. Truly hoping this place continues to thrive!

Went to the doctor today, and told the receptionist that I was craving a burger. She told me to go to Smash Burger about 5 minutes away. I got there, and while reading the menu I thought I had a dirty mind. I was feeling a little weird about myself.
The guy Alex, who offered me exceptional service and humor was just looking at me. Huh, I started wondering why am I thinking dirty looking at him and another customer. Then it hit me “Smash” ooh! They saw that I had just got the correlation. They allowed me release a sigh of relief, and I ordered what I am, “HOT and HEAVY COMBO”!
That was the best burger that I have had since my bday. I was eating it on the way to work in DTLA, I wanted to say a piece of it and split it with my entire classroom.
I will be going back there for sure, and they’re not far from my house. Alex won me over great service, awesome food, clean environment. I will definitely take my folks there when they come to the valley.
I will definitely be Smashing them again! They going in my rotation.

To be honest, I’m not one to like smashed burgers, but trying this place for the first time was very impressive, hands down. I will say to those of you who don’t like pickles or lots of spread this place isn’t for you, but it doesn’t mean u can’t try the amazing fries they have. Either way, I can say I will return and try more items on the menu. Great customer service and clean location, a bit small, but there is also outside seating. Can’t wait to return.

The drinks are overpriced, fries are bland and over cooked. Some burgers have small portions although costing more.

If you’re looking for an average smash burger experience that will get you in the mood, try Wanna Smash in Van Nuys.

While looking for a spot to try on National Burger Day, Wanna Smash caught my eye for obvious reasons. A burger joint themed on sexual innuendos seemed promising, but it’s important to check if the food lives up to the branding. After all, it’s not about how big your burger is, it’s how it tastes.

Location: This place is tiny. While you’re not gonna have a ton of space as a business on Van Nuys Blvd, I’m not sure why they even offer indoor seating. There are 6 stools crammed into two bench style tables, and if you really did eat with 2 people next to you it wouldn’t be comfortable. There’s some outdoor seating but it’s the same kind of crammed stool/bench seating.

Food: I got The Cowgirl because I felt like I’d been doing all the work recently.

While I think it’s a crime to serve any burger (yes, even a smash burger) without lettuce or tomato already added (the menu offers a $1 up charge for greens and other items), The Cowgirl had quality smashed patties, perfectly crisped bacon, and huge onion rings. The home made BBQ sauce was delicious, but this thing was drenched in it. It could use less. The bun was soft and fluffy, and helped keep everything together. Solid presentation.

The fries were the best part of this meal. Way more than I thought I’d get, and perfectly seasoned (not buried in chili powder like a lot of these other places like to do.) The soda was standard, but surprisingly they didn’t have ice. I also wish they had a ketchup pump instead of packets, as the paper bag and tray doesn’t really give you space to make your own pile of ketchup.

Vibe: The branding is hilarious. Every menu item is well themed, and the ingredients somehow match the vibe. It’s insane that this menu includes items like “the happy ending” but also includes a “kids cheese burger.” I guess it makes sense, since for some reason I saw two toddlers eating at this joint. Doesn’t seem like the target audience, but I guess this place makes parents not only wanna have babies, but bring ‘em along.

The award for most insane menu item name goes to the Oreo flavored Milf-shake, aptly named “snowbunny.”

All in all, this place is worth it for the experience. If you live close I’d say you should grab the food for takeout, but you can probably make do with the limited indoor and outdoor seating if you come from afar. I’ll be back here to show friends, and try some of the other unhinged menu items.

Would lightly recommend.

I dare you to find a better burger… This spot is amazing! Been coming here a for a while now! Alex holds it down back there! Patties are perfect crisp on the outside and juicy inside. Real fresh ingredients, and the beef is VERY high quality. They’re not hiding behind sauce, but the sauce is delicious too!

I work a few mins away (4 min walk) and I couldn’t even wait to get back! Had to devour it immediately. The price is absolutely worth the quality and love that goes into these burgers.

Came by on a hot summer day, and the man tending to the shop was really nice! I ordered the Cin shake and it was really good! I definitely plan to come back soon, since the menu is so unique.

The burger was just okay—very basic and, in my opinion, didn’t taste like a proper smash burger. It was slightly on the salty side. The place itself felt a little sketchy and had an unclean smell. Service was fine, but after I bought a drink, they told me they only had three options available, which was disappointing. Overall, it’s definitely not a place I’d go back to. So far, this is my least favorite smash burger I’ve had.

This is a true smash burger spot. We did “the foursome” and got to try all burgers. The Cowgirl was our favorite but they all taste delicious. Milkshakes are amazing. The owner is super friendly and I enjoyed our conversation and his vision for his company. Wishing him nothing but success for this place.
