Awesome and unique! I was hesitant to try this place because I’m loyal to my regular sushi joint but I was intrigued by the signage, name, and of course the inflatable lumberjack waving outside who looks straight out of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. I walked in and was greeted by the two staff members working and they directed me to the ordering screen. Then all became clear. I was hesitant to try this place because the idea of $1 sushi sounded a little precarious but when you see the menu it all makes sense. Sushi balls with different toppings and the prices range from $1-$3 depending on what you order. I ordered salmon, eel, daikon radish, seaweed and a few others I can’t recall exactly but I am pleased to report they were all delicious!! And affordable. I think my order was about $12 + tip. There are fun goodies to look at while you wait and you may also choose to purchase sweet or savory snacks that are displayed on the wall. There are a couple small tables if you want to eat there but I took mine home in the cutest little half bag I’ve ever seen. Go check this place out it’s tasty and fun!

Very nice experience imo. Place is small but very quaint and cute. Decor is wooden and cozy with a little fishing game for you to play while you wait. Seating is very limited inside however; there was maybe space for 12-15 people total if you were to “dine in”.

Service was minimal. You order on the kiosk and someone calls your number and gives you the food. Only took about 5 minutes for the sushi to be made.

Tastewise I would say was decent. There is a lot of sauce over the sushi but overall not bad. The portion is big for $1 sushi and there is a good selection of fish and other non fish options.

All in all, I would probably come back again besides the location being where is at having limited street parking and it’s about 20-30 minutes from downtown.

Bloop bloop was such a wonderful experience.
Ordered two shrimp balls and two salmon balls and two triangle rice balls- beef and curry.
They were packed nicely, taste good and looked very cute!!!!
However I felt that the rice balls had more rice than meat.
Ordered it as a take out and was a wonderful afternoon snack enjoyed at our hotel room overlooking the city.
Orders are placed using their kiosks at the restaurant, very convenient. And had fun games to play while waiting for the order. Had an Asian snacks wall as well.

It’s such a cute idea and perfect for cheap people like me! A dollar for a piece of sushi? Count me in! Easy to order from the electronic kiosk, tons of options to choose from with good descriptions to help you suit your cravings. They even have sweets! And sweet treats on the wall you can buy too like almonds and Kit Kats. The sushi balls came out quick and were such a good snack! The sauce on top is just a little spicy but the salt on top helps balance it out. Close to the action of Lincoln Square too.

Fun concept, delicious sushi. Portions are small, just an fyi. The establishment is also tiny, and the layout is a little awkward. They have an impressive menu that includes drinks and dessert.

Great first experience at Bloop Bloop! We tried several different ball sushi options and loved how easy it was to sample without ordering full rolls. The prices are very reasonable, making it a perfect spot for anyone new to sushi. Ordering via kiosk was simple, parking was easy to find, and overall it was a really good experience.

Update 02/08/26: Ordered again today, preparation and taste has gone down significantly from our first experience. Rice wet, pockets wet, tastes not balanced, sloppy presentation all around. Was looking forward to getting from here again. Original post: We ordered online and picked up (short walk from Hop Butcher). It was good, have to consider convenience and price, would definitely order from them again.

This is a cute little eatery. It’s really a take out place as there are only a few chairs to sit. The sushi is good, tastes nice and is good value. I have tried most things on the menu and I enjoyed them all. The $2 pocket things are fine, but the sushi balls are better.

Sushi balls were actually really good and tasty. Quite a few options to choose from (octopus, squid, eel, shrimp, tuna, salmon, etc.) The triangle was a curry and cheese. Sushi pockets were good. Long list of drink options. Decent place to walk in, quickly grab a bite, and leave out or to dine in. Nice spot.

The prices were really cheap, but the fish tasted fishy and the rice portions were way too big. If they reduced the amount of rice, you could enjoy more variety.
Also, they don’t give chopsticks — only a small wooden fork, so the sushi kept falling apart. I had to eat with my hands. Even when I asked for napkins, they only gave me one (and it was super thin).
The staff kept watching us the whole time, which felt uncomfortable.
If you go, bring your own chopsticks and napkins. It’s fun to try once, but I wouldn’t go back again.
