The food is shocking, its excellent. Everything is seasoned perfectly. The menu is very short—clearly the chef cares deeply about what they serve. The wine menu has a message at the top—every wine is pared with a specific dish. The paintings on the walls are beautiful, and by a local artist. I had a cognac pear cocktail and it was amazing. Its a small, cosy place right on the shore. If you’re looking for excellent food from a chef who truly cares about his food, this is the place. This restaurant wouldn’t be out of place in the middle of Manhattan.

The vegan gluten-free cottage pie was was amazing. My husband had a regular pot pie and said it was excellent. We cannot speak highly enough about this place.

I don’t know who Gordon is, but it’s apparent that this guy knows what he’s doing. You fuse, you don’t lose!

Our annual visit to Coupeville in late October usually sees us dining at Oystercatcher for dinner, as we generally arrive too late in the day (due to the long drive + ferry ride) for much else, and we always book reservations there. Same as this year. However, due to proper planning and actually getting out of bed early enough, we made it to Whidbey Island nearly six hours earlier than we normally do, meaning that lunch needed to happen, and it wasn’t going to be at the same place we were dining later that night. Front Street Grill had an hour+ wait, so we decided to branch out, and spotted Gordon’s, which we had never noticed before, as the building is rather subtle in appearance, and doesn’t advertise it well. Hopefully this review, and others, will do justice to this place, because it absolutely should not be overlooked!

Immediate seating. Friendly, welcoming and helpful servers. Casual atmosphere. Incredible food. I mean, seriously…wow! My wife had cracked a joke earlier that I was probably going to order some sort of burger, and I endeavored to avoid her prophecy, considering both the Scottish Hotdish and the Bangers and Mash Pot Pie, both of which I desperately wanted to try, but as both had mushrooms (which I despite), I wussed out and went with the French Onion burger, enduring the snickering from my wife as I did so. I’d beat myself up for such insolence, if the burger hadn’t been so incredible!

Heck, it was delicious enough that would have ended up with the last laugh, if her Cider-Braised Chicken and Dumplings hadn’t been as phenomenal! What a fantastic savory dish! My wife praised the gnocchi in particular, with her only complaint being that the chicken was comprised of darker meat than she typically likes, but it worked so well that she enjoyed every single bite!

A cherry-smoked Old Fashioned accompanied my meal, making for, in my opinion, is the perfect meal: whiskey and a burger. If I don’t have to ask you for some steak sauce with said burger, you know it’s a winner; and such blasphemy never once crossed my mind!

Every time we visit Coupeville, we discover a new secret, or something we managed to overlook during previous visits, adding it to our arsenal of must-revisit places. Gordon’s is the newest addition to that storied selection, and one that we will never be as remiss as to sleep on it again. Gordon’s fuses itself to Coupeville’s already stellar reputation of incredible culinary destinations in such a way, that it is not possible to have any dinner-deciding discussion without taking it into serious consideration. You can’t go wrong here, folks.

A great spot for lunch from a restaurant which you can tell has a passion for food. We found this place by chance when the restaurant we were going to go to was closed for a special event. The atmosphere is fun and unique. The wait staff were very friendly but there were not very many of them so the service was slow. The ingredients were fresh and full of flavor and were different than what I am typically used to. I was told by one of the staff that they rotate their menu every 4 months or so. They also had some fun drink options.

Worth the price. The food is indeed a perfect fusion flavor. We ordered the pork loin and the pan fried rockfish, both have great taste and decent texture. The tangy flavor of the pork loin, and the Mexican inspired(I guess) base for the rock fish are two impressive highlights that really stands out. The savory texture of the cream of mushroom is unforgettable.

I will try pay another visit to this place upon our next excursion to the island. In addition, the portion of the dishes are relatively large, and I really like it, but I will take that into consideration upon our next visit.

Gordon’s restaurants are a must-have whenever we’re on Whidbey Island. Today was no exception and Gordon’s Fusion delivered another delightful, delectably delicious meal experience. My husband exclaimed that the clam chooser soup was the best he’s had and better than San Francisco’s. That’s starting off on a high note….would the rest of the meal live up to that? The butter chicken was tasty and not excessively buttery as some Indian restaurants prepare the dish. The miso salmon was beautifully prepared (I despise over cooked salmon), tasty with a little char & served with lovely veggies. The naan bread and compound butter was great. But the topper of the meal was the bread pudding – ridiculous! Bread pudding can be congealed, or soggy, or dense. Not this one. The custardy, slightly cinnamon/cardamom spices bread was layered with craisins and flaked almonds served on a bed of amazing caramel sauce and topped with blueberry compote and whipped cream. I know some reviewers consider the dishes expensive, but the food is too class, unique, meticulously flavored and prepared, and generously portioned. I highly recommend Gordon’s restaurants and we look forward to our next visit already.

My husband and I dined here on a Sunday afternoon. Cozy, welcoming atmosphere, wonderful service, and simply amazing food! We left absolutely stuffed and enjoyed everything we ordered- Thai mussels and clams, ahi poke, Huli Huli chicken, and more! My husband absolutely lives for authentic cuisine and the Huli Huli was right on the money for him! The drinks and desserts topped off our meal beautifully.

Absolutely amazing. Best food in Coupeville. Generous portions at reasonable prices. The staff was lovely and Chef visited our table! Flank steak over wasabi mashed potatoes is tdf. Love the mango cheesecake.

So happy to see the space happily renovated and open after the building fire last year. The changes are really nice.

Long drive from Lacey but i found a favorite place to go eat. Surprisingly outstanding food in a small town by the water.
No outside views to admire, but quality of the food makes up the lack of scenery. We were seated rather quickly without having a reservation. Services were good even though restaurant was busy. Gotta be honest here, I think our order was either misplaced or served in wrong order. Waited few tables those who came after us. But it happens and I am still impressed with their service and the delicious food. Keep up the great work.

We fell into this place by accident and so glad we did. Three of us shared mussels with white wine sauce, shrimp, bread and fries. The flavors in each dish were exquisite and had their own distinct flavor profiles. I’m a fan of highly seasoned food and everything was so good! I was especially fond of the aioli that came with the fries and the sauce that accompanied the shrimp. Two orders of bread were perfect to sop up the sauces. It helped that the shrimp came with it’s own side of bread.

I highly recommend this place. Wish we lived closer!

This close to the water, you’d expect incredible seafood. Well that’s exactly what you get at Gordon’s. Utterly amazing meal. We started with the Spanish Chorizo Penn Cove steamed muscles and clams in Vermouth broth. Exceptional! The clams and muscles were so fresh, cooked perfectly, and the broth was so sumptuous we finished every drop. My wife had the Salmon Pannini with a caprese salad and it was outstanding. The grill on the salmon filet and the house made pesto was a magical combination. I had the Cioppino and I was over the moon. More perfectly cooked seafood, clams, mussels, prawns and salmon in a red wine tomato sauce, with toasted bread to sop up the insanely delicious stew. Thank you for a wonderful meal!
