My mom is a Louisiana transplant now living in Conroe. We heard about Poppy’s Seafood Grille from a local Willis resident. Decided to try it. The waiter, JR, was friendly and very attentive. The food was good. Looks like they have live entertainment at various times. They also serve beer and wine. I see they are selling crawfish right now. A little gem in small-town Willis. We will go back!

This place is really awesome. Super comfort food – my burger was delicious. And good healthy choices, too; my wife had a salmon on a bed of veggies which was perfectly spiced and prepared.
Very reasonably priced – the salmon special was $17 and my burger was $9.
The service was impeccable, too.
Highly, highly recommend!!

My sister, brother in law & niece went. The food was great. Being that we’re from South LA, they let us sample some crawfish and needless to say it was good. We all ordered seafood platter with shrimp & catfish. It was perfect. Our waitress Maggie was simple amazing. I live in Dallas & will definitely drive back to Willis,TX exit 94 for more. I was very pleased with everything. We went early evening.

Came for lunch. Our first visit. Our server Ashley was super polite! The “gravy train” burger was demolished by my son who gave it great reviews!! The Bouchee Rolls appetizer was by itself 5 stars! All in all….great chill atmosphere and tasty food close to home!! Thank you Poppy’s

Cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. The Catfish Atchafalaya was delicious! I asked for some Cajun hot sauce, and the chef made some specifically for me (so good). I’d skip the “Good Ass Beer” that’s advertised on the table.

We had a great time. The staff was “running” madly trying to fulfill their duties, and smiling and being courteous. The meal was compatible with our favorite restaurant, Landry’s. Save money by visiting your establishment more often. Thank you.

Table were dirty, had to wipe off chairs too. Floor were reasonably clean. Food was cold. Gumbo was ok, but not even lukewarm. French fries were cold in center. Sandwich was supposed to be on a bun of sourdough, it was on two slices of bread. Not friendly waiter. Overall not a good experience.

I really wanted to like this place but I just can’t. The first time I tried it, I ordered to go and they forgot half the order, and it didn’t seem fresh. I complained and got a 25 dollar gift card. Decided to try it again this weekend, and it was yet again, horrible. I ordered the shrimp platter and when I got there, the to go hostess had input the seafood platter making us wait longer. Got all of our food, the shrimp smelled like straight up fish. Shrimp isn’t supposed to smell fishy when it’s been cooked and FRIED. The French fries were stale and cold. Maybe everyone else has better food, but they just can’t seem to get it right at this place and we won’t ever come back. If you’re gonna be a seafood place, make sure it’s fresh.

This restaurant is a real gem in a small town. Everything is fresh, flavorful and well-prepared. It has a great atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff.
Their signature Bouchee Rolls are a particular treat so don’t miss them! The gumbo and jambalaya are great and super authentic and the fried seafood is never heavy or greasy. This might be the best restaurant in Willis!

This used to be one of my favorite places. I found out that there is new owners. Everything has gone downhill. The quality of the food and the portions have greatly decreased and the prices have increased. I had boiled shrimp that you can taste it was frozen and dropped in hot water. I also had 3 lb’s of craw fish that I was served with only one corn cob and 2 potatoes. That was the last chances. I won’t be back.
