I gave it five stars across the board, because Shelby absolutely took the effort to accommodate my dietary preferences. I was well taken care of and she had a fantastic attitude, great sense of awareness, amazing personal and great recommendations for wine. Finn was also very accommodating and I can tell it is because of his keenness in listening and observing the room, as well as being thoroughly trained by Shelby, – a Corks and Hops Veteran.
What a wonderful place to host an event, or even to enjoy a nice evening with a friend or lover.
I recommend this place highly, so long as Shelby and Finn are working. They are the reason I will be coming from Anchorage out to Eagle River to enjoy a delicious glass of wine (I recommend and was recommended the Conundrum White, and the Conundrum Red was delicious too!) and a good, well-done meal!
Thank you so much for also personally not making me feel like my dietary preferences were “too much,” and for doing absolutely perfectly on creating a dish that secondaries my needs very well. THIS is the place!

Two people, we chose the specials. The steak was good , but the halibut plate needed seasoning. This would have been a good meal if the price point was less. Beer selection was lacking and wine selection was pricier than preferred.

I love the modern signage outside and I’ve been wanting to this place for a while. They only allow reservations for parties of 6 or more and add 20% gratuity to parties of 6+. I ordered the beer flight which had generous portions (more then I could drink). I also ordered the crab cakes which came out cold, I was a bit concerned they undercooked it but I didn’t get sick so I guess that’s good. For the main course I got the shrimp-scallop risotto. The presentation was unappetizing and the sauce they used tasted like a cheap supermarket bottled cheesy sauce. My wife got thr dijon chicken which came with a side of vegetables. The vegetables were unseasoned steamed zucchini which was bland. The overall portions very small. We waited over 1 hour to get our dishes despite being the only patrons ordering food. We went on Jan 1st so maybe they were short staffed but as the only patrons eating food, I expect better. I think this is likely a good place for drinks and the bar area looked fun but I would stay away from the food.

I ordered the filet steak, requesting it to be cooked medium, but it arrived closer to medium-well. Despite this, the steak was still quite flavorful, though the dish was overwhelmed by a heavy-handed amount of sauce. It drowned out the natural flavors of the meat, which was disappointing. I had also opted for the “Oscar Style” preparation, expecting fresh, succulent king crab lump meat. However, it was served with a mediocre crab cake on top, which fell short of the experience I was hoping for. The accompanying potato lacked seasoning, and with no salt or pepper on the table, it felt like the final touches were missing.
My partner tried the Fig, Goat Cheese and caramelized onion pizza. While the flavors were intriguing, the sweetness of the fig dominated the dish, similar to the sauce issue with my steak. We found that the balance of flavors could have been improved to enhance the overall enjoyment.
Unfortunately, service didn’t help redeem the meal. Our server didn’t check on us after delivering our dishes, nor did they come back to take another drink order. The inattentive service paired with the imbalance in flavors left us with an overall experience that was decent, but far from stellar.
For those seeking a trendy spot to enjoy a meal and drinks, Corks and Hops has a nice ambiance, but the attention to detail—both in service and execution of the dishes—could use some improvement.

The wine selection really is delicious. I liked the pairings of food and wine. The price was a bit high for the quality I expected from the ambiance. The atmosphere was lovely. I expected more for the $17 shrimp add on. But, I also harvest my own shrimp in Alaska. That could have altered my experience, and I should have never cheated on my freezer full of collosal sized shrimps.

Great food and amazing service. The waitress Ashley made us feel like family and let us sit by the fire, which made for a cozy, unplanned date night. Everything tasted homemade and full of flavor. Perfect comfort food. We’ll definitely be back.

Great spot in Eagle River. Food is very tasty!! Got the bruschetta, French onion soup, and steak pizza. I wouldn’t recommend getting those three things together because they all have garlic and onion so it ended up being very salty. That being said I would get those three things again but just pair them with different appetizers/entrees.

Everything was top notch! Our friendly waitress, Makayla, was so helpful with the menu and gave recommendations, which proved to be exactly what we were craving tonight. Food was phenomenal, service was speedy and the environment/ambiance was perfect for a quiet date night. My husband has the Kenai River Hefeweizen which he said was one of the better beers he’s had (he loves trying new craft beers), the two pizzas we got were so tasty, the Caesar salad was light and delicious and the peanut butter ice cream was the most decadent dessert to finish the incredible meal. We will definitely be coming back to this fine establishment.

Came the first time as soon as they opened for lunch with my husband. We had the French onion soup and tomato soup- delicious! The burgers had us wanting more and came back a few weeks later with our four kids as we know they love burgers. It all looked the same but tasted completely different, dry to the point we couldn’t take another bite. Very disappointed as we came all the way from Palmer to have a meal. They didn’t make us pay, good customer service. Will not come back due to not knowing what we will get.
