This is the perfect takeout sushi place for us. They have a lot of veggie roll choices that are delicious and inexpensive add-ons. The raw fish is firm and fresh! The prices are very reasonable. We have never once received an order with anything wrong or missing…and we’ve ordered a lot.
There’s a bunch of rolls here that I enjoy, but my favorites are the Spicy Salmon Crunchy Roll, Sweet Potato Roll and the Black Dragon Roll (which is roasted eel, avocado, crab salad, cucumber, sesame seeds and eel sauce). I love anything with that tasty eel sauce, which is also included on the Sweet Potato Roll!
I also love their regular BSE fried rice, vegetable or shrimp.
This isn’t super precisely made sushi, but the fish is fresh…and that’s what I care about most. The prices reflect what it is. And it isn’t sloppy by any means.
This is definitely our most preferred weekday takeout sushi place. I hope you give it a try!

The food is amazing! The salmon is fresh and you can taste the sweet fat in it. The ingredients of Salmon California Roll is very simple but that’s how you taste the real thing. They use fish chunks instead of smashed fish meat in the rolls which makes it even better. We also had the steam shrimp dumplings, it’s hot and fresh. The skin is very soft and chewy. I don’t understand the sauce that came with it though.
On top of it, the price is totally worth it. If you want better quality sushi and don’t want to spend a fortune, this is the place. I will definitely come back to try their ramen and curry.

this is the best sushi I’ve found in buffalo. i ordered 2 different fresh fish rolls, my mom got ramen, and my cousin ordered a noodle dish. while not everything came out at the same time, it didn’t matter. it was all delicious.
i think this is a place where you should share dishes, especially since everything might come in a strange order (i got my miso soup after my rolls). i love food sharing experiences.

I just ate there for the first time. It was the best sushi I have found in Buffalo in the four years I have lived here. The quality and presentation were awesome. And the prices were very reasonable. The service was excellent and provided by a super friendly guy. I will be going back for more..! One more big plus, the parking is easy and very available.

When coming to sushi, i am pretty picky. I do not much care about the store design or location, more important to me is the food quality. The rice to make sushi in here is perfect. I give extra scores for the presentation. Perfect amount of rice and portions of other items make a good composition of a sushi plate. Wasabi is freshly made. I usually stop by after work and i love it from the first time till now. I will still keep coming back to explore to all the items on the menu.
Another plus is the friendliness of the Chef. You will always see his smile and it brightens the place and also the food.

From the moment I stepped into Buffalo Sushi Express, I knew I was in for something special. The nigiri was so rich it felt like luxury on a plate, and the tempora shrimp roll was a perfect balance of sweetness . I’ve eaten sushi all over the U.S. and Europe, at high end restaurants and local holes in the wall. This is some of the freshest and best tasting I’ve ever had. It’s also some of the cheapest I’ve ever had. What’s not to love?
