The service and cuisine were exceptional. The Filet Medallion was particularly delightful. I must commend Bella, the bartender, for the outstanding beverages she prepared. Jason, our server, also provided excellent service. I wholeheartedly recommend this sophisticated establishment.

Arrived into town with a train, and what a cute little town that is! Grab the slice of pizza at johnny’s, as I was walking into town, and it was delicious!
I had enough cheese on it till last me another 2 years. Looks like it’s all the locals in here, eating, so it must be a favorite place for them.

We came in to get a drink and a bite while we waited to catch the train. We were greeted by Jason, Laura and Vince and they were very welcoming and hospitable when we expressed we were starving and had limited time. Laura with her warm motherly instincts, served us up each a cup of warm clam chowder and slices of Italian bread. She also poured us up a few Mexican mules. They sent us on our way with a few togo slices of pizza and we were on our way to catch our train. We were in and out 18 minutes max and had the most pleasant experience with some of the kindest people of Itasca. We definitely will visit again!

Yesterday night ( feb12) I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant due to the service.
Our initial bill was $79, when it should have been around $48. We were clearly charged double for one item and also billed for an item we didn’t even order or eat. When I pointed this out, the server said she would correct it and apologized. However, the revised bill still had another incorrect charge.
When I brought it up again, instead of handling it professionally, she rolled her eyes and nodded her head in a way that made it seem like we had done something wrong. This happened twice. Mistakes can happen, but attitude and behavior matter. Customers should not feel uncomfortable or blamed for billing errors that were not their fault.
That being said, the owner is always welcoming and kind, and the food is genuinely good. I hope management addresses this issue because service should match the quality of the food.

Buon Johnny is a welcomed addition to Itasca! After a long walk around Springbrook Nature Center, we decided we needed some refreshing beverage. We were not disappointed! Smiling faces, excellent service by Laura and very aromatic food, we decided to eat in. The Chilean Sea bass was absolutely amazing! I forgot the name of the other dish but was rolled flank steak. Also mouthwatering. What a gem! Highly recommend stopping by!

I highly recommend starting with the Calamari and Bruschetta, both perfectly prepared. For the main course, the Linguine Frutti di Mare was outstanding, packed with shrimp, calamari, clams, and mussels in a rich tomato sauce. I also tried the Risotto with Shrimp & Asparagus, and it did not disappoint—creamy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. They also have a great selection of pizzas!
A big plus is their after-6 PM specials—half-off entrées on Mondays, half-off pizzas on Tuesdays, half-off appetizers on Wednesdays, and free dessert with an entrée on Thursdays. Definitely a great reason to visit during the week!

Visiting from Dallas for a work dinner and our dinner here was a highlight. The owners, staff, and everyone there showed us such a great experience. It felt like they all knew us and really cared about us. The food and atmosphere were all great and so were the prices.

Went for the first time service was great but food wasn’t the greatest. Had a red snapper which was very hard and chewy couldn’t even finish it. My kids pizza was burnt and hard and the tenders were ok. Had much better. For the price it isn’t worth it.
