The food was great! We had the Banh xeo, stir fry beef with rice and hanoi shrimp rolls. All of it were good! We were so full we had to take out some. Serving is good too! Most diners were foreigners when we came. They prepare and explain how to eat the food whenever they serve it, which was a huge plus since we are not locals. Ruby was very cheerful and welcoming. She checks if we need anything just tell her.

I recently visited Hoang’s Kitchen and had a pleasant experience, though I have mixed feelings about the value. ️

The taste was “so-so” for me personally when compared to the price point. While the food is good, it didn’t quite hit that “wow” factor I was expecting for what I paid. The serving speed was impressively fast, but overall, the culinary experience felt just “OK”—it’s the kind of place where one visit is probably enough for me. ‍♂️

However, the hospitality here is top-notch! The staff are incredibly welcoming and speak English very well, which made the entire process smooth and enjoyable.

Useful Info:
* Prices: Expect to pay a bit of a premium compared to local street food, with most mains in the 150,000 – 300,000 VND range.
* Service: Excellent English-speaking staff and very efficient service. ️
* Vibe: Clean, professional, and well-located for travelers in District 1.

Overall: 4/5 stars. Come for the great service and reliable speed, even if the food doesn’t necessarily blow you away! ✨

We stopped at Hoang’s Kitchen for lunch during a guided city tour, on our guide’s recommendation, and we’re glad we did. The ground floor was busy, mostly with locals and Asian guests, which felt like a very good sign.
We were seated on the first floor in a quieter area, which was perfect for a relaxed lunch break after a busy sightseeing morning. The service was attentive and genuinely friendly.
The food was excellent: beef pho, fried shrimp, beef in pepper sauce, cashew chicken, and a mango seafood salad. Everything we tried was delicious.
One small note for families with picky kids: there are no chicken nuggets or similar “emergency food” on the menu (which is understandable for an authentic Vietnamese restaurant), but the French fries were good and solved the problem for us.
Overall, a very positive experience, highly recommended!

This location is very clean and the service is good. The food was enjoyable, and the coconut coffee was delicious. Ruby was very kind and provided great service. We ordered the Bánh Xèo, and she showed us how to roll it properly. She also let us know that we could get extra vegetables and fish sauce, which was a nice touch.

We stopped by after exploring Ben Thanh Market and were so glad we did! The location is super convenient and an easy walk from the surrounds. The pho broth was rich and flavourful, and the summer rolls were incredibly fresh. The egg coffee was rich, creamy with a strong hit of coffee. I visited with my husband and son, and we all enjoyed our meals. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, and the service was amazing — staff were friendly, attentive, and spoke great English. Highly recommend!

enjoyed our dinner here, I think their bahn xeo is really good— it came with rice paper, lettuce, coriander, pineapples & cucumber to roll with and inside there is plenty of meat, bean sprouts and carrots. The nước mắm was flavourful and had the perfect amount of spice. I think the prices are reasonable as well, however, the coconut was 70K VND — you could get it for minimum 25K VND elsewhere. The service was great, the waiter showed us how to properly eat bahn xeo and made a roll for us. They also provided a high chair and a toy for my baby. The only disappointment was the fact that they didn’t had the betel leaves nor the bu luc lac when we came (we got there at 8PM and they close at 10PM).

Would definitely come back! ☺️

Great food, great service and a very pleasant atmosphere. Worth all the great reviews. We enjoyed dinner here our last night in Ho Chi Minh. What a wonderful way to say goodbye to an amazing city. We had the chicken fried rice and the Hanoi Tradional fried fish. Both excellent dishes. Don’t leave Saigon without giving this place a try.

Positives:

– Got seated almost immediately, without any wait
– The ambience was nice with very comfortable seating.
– There is plenty of seating in the restaurant and the staff is SUPER KIND and HELPFUL
– Ordered A whiskey and coke along with Saigon Fried Fish as well as a Deep Fried Tofu. The food was decent..
– I was helped by ‘Nami’ who showed me how to make fresh rolls with the Fried Fish platter using all the condiments. She was VERY good and pleasant to talk to.
– My bill was VND 492,000 for everything

Negatives:

– The helping of the Fried Fish itself was very small i.e. the pieces of fish were super small and if you wanted to eat just the fish, it would not be enough for one person

This was my second time dining at this restaurant, and even at a different branch, they didn’t disappoint. The food was super nice—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.

A huge shoutout to our server, Ruby, who made the day even better. She was incredibly cute and had such a positive, upbeat energy that really elevated our dining experience. It’s rare to find a place that nails both the menu and the hospitality so consistently.

I’ll definitely be back again!
