The beef brisket was insanely tender, smoked for over 10 hours and so soft you could literally pull it apart with your fingers. The grass-fed lamb ribs were another standout — juicy, flavourful, and surprisingly with zero gamey taste. The house sausage bursts with flavour when you bite into it, especially when paired with their homemade garlic, honey & coriander aioli.
Another highlight for me was their signature cornbread. Not many places serve this, and TBBQ makes it with freshly ground cornmeal, giving it that authentic texture and flavour.
The vibe here is casual and lively, making it perfect for group dinners or weekend catch-ups. Portions are generous, so sharing platters with friends or family is definitely the way to go.
Established in 2023, TBBQ Fitzroy – Ribs, Brisket & More has already picked up major recognition — including Best BBQ Restaurant in Oceania 2025 and the East Melbourne Local Business Awards 2025 for Outstanding Restaurant, a testament to their dedication to authentic BBQ.
Overall, TBBQ delivers a satisfying BBQ feast in the heart of Fitzroy — smoky meats, hearty portions, and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for meat lovers.
Tip: Go with family and order a platter so you can try brisket, ribs, wings and sides all in one go. Family-friendly too!
We ordered the mixed meat platter with brisket, sausage, pulled pork and chicken wings. Every piece was packed with flavor — the brisket was super tender, the sausage juicy with a little spice, and the wings were perfectly grilled with that crispy edge. The sides like coleslaw and pickles balanced everything so well. Portions were generous too — perfect for sharing!
They also had two fresh trophies displayed at the counter which totally made sense after tasting their food. Definitely recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Texas-style BBQ in Melbourne. Great food, good vibes, and worth the hype!
The meats were juicy and tender with a burst of wood oven flavours.
The sides were so good, we ordered twice-
– Roasted sweet potato mash
– Roasted Eggplant
– Spicy fries
To all the brisket lovers, this is a must visit.
The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the rich aroma of wood smoke — instantly sets the mood for what’s to come.
The Angus beef short ribs were insanely tender and juicy — every bite just melted in my mouth. What surprised me even more were the chicken wings. The skin was grilled until perfectly crispy while the meat stayed moist inside. Absolutely spot on!
Great flavours, generous portions, and such a satisfying experience overall.
The meat is smoked low and slow to absolute perfection. The T2 platter is ideal for sharing and lets you sample a bit of everything. The brisket steals the show! Juicy, tender, and packed with smoky flavour. The pulled pork melts apart effortlessly, the sauce is rich and tangy, and the smoked sausage adds an extra hit of smokiness.
A must-visit for any BBQ enthusiast❗️❗️
The brisket was super tender and flavorful, with a nice crispy crust. Their bread was perfectly crispy outside and soft inside. The Egg Benedict was delicious and paired really well with the beef.
I also tried the monster sandwich loaded with 400g of meat and plenty of cheese, definitely lived up to its name! The restaurant’s vibe feels really genuine and cozy.
If you love good BBQ, this place is a must-visit. Can’t wait to come back and try the BBQ platter next time!
This is what we had:
T2 Platter ($139) – This platter came with enough food for 3 people and we were super full. The brisket was so soft that it just fell apart. There were sausages but they weren’t really for us, taste wise. The pulled pork was pretty good. My favourite was the wings and the sauce that came with it. That sauce was genuinely so delicious. The pickles had a fiery hit to them.
Fire Roasted & Smashed Sweet Potato ($14) – we really liked this, it cut through the meats really well.
Mac & Cheese w Pangritata ($25)- super cheesy but this is not for me.
We really enjoyed the food here, we would come back with more friends to try the other platters.
