Stopped into Mickey’s Kitchen for a bite while walking the Palm Springs street market.
Just a half block off the market, Mickey’s is a simple Mexican cafe. Large menu. Small staff. The food quality was good. All homemade and cooked to order.
This day was a bad day for Mickey’s as they had no staff. It was clear that the two people there were cooking, taking orders, bussing tables and trying to keep up.
While things took a bit longer than normal, the food was still excellent and served hot.
Lots of specials on the walk-in board. Check them out.
We had the tortas, burrito, ceviche and the guacamole & chips. All very good.
If you want a more service oriented meal in a nicer mexican cantina style restaurant – there are plenty to choose from in Palm Springs. Mickey’s is a simple place with simple decor. This is not a place you for ambiance or great table service.
It’s a place you go to eat and move on.
But it does that part quite well.

This is a must for queso birria tacos! Jose is so lovely and brought a heater over to our table because he could tell we were cold. His mom is known for his queso birria tacos and the flan was phenomenal!

I stopped in for a solo lunch and got two shredded beef tacos. The flavor of the meat was really good and taco shell was crispy. The server was the sweetest and very attentive. Definitely coming back to try more of their menu.

There are many Mexican restaurants around the area that cater to fancy looking pictures but if you’re looking for good quality food and reasonable prices, Mickey’s is the place to go! I got the birria tacos and my wife got the shrimp and fish tacos. Both were awesome and would recommend!
We’d definitely come back here next time we’re in Palm Springs

Came in for a quick bite to eat during lunch, and was immediately greeted by two friendly staff, The whole place was clean and the restroom as well which can’t be said for a lot of places. Food came out in a timely manner and was greeted with the usual complimentary chips and salsa which were excellent. The ham torta was great, was able to get seated, eat my food and get back to work quick and easy.
