The artichoke spinach pull apart appetizer was delicious. The drinks were well mixed and the lunch entrees were very tasty and filling. Relaxed atmosphere and polite staff… great place to stop for lunch.

Attended an annual pig roast the restaurant offers for about 35 guests. The chef was preparing the pig in plain view and was gracious enough to answer questions and talk about the details. The wait staff and host we’re attentive to all the guests as the food was brought out buffet style. The home style serve yourself was a welcome change. The pig was perfectly roasted and paired up with a thoughtful mix of vegetables and fruits. This was a unique way to bring the farm to the table. The chef was kind, thoughtful and friendly as he joined the guests throughout the evening. I will return not only annually, but regularly to enjoy this family style restaurant.

I have read through some of the reviews on here and am shocked as I have never had a bad experience while here and I have been coming since they switched over from Southgate. I have never gotten the wrong order, my drinks have come out in a timely fashion, the dishes I have tried have always been good and the prices are reasonable. Must be why we continue to go back again and again.
Yesterday we were there for Saturday during brunch time, (it was packed) but we did not have the brunch options. I had the Blackened Chicken Bowl as did two others in our party, which was fantastic.
I do recommend for sure!

I went there because I received a gift card. The atmosphere is very nice and the wait staff was attentive. The food was OK, but it was not worth the price on the menu. I ordered the lunch special, a curry chicken salad sandwich, because it sounded interesting. The bread on my sandwich was burnt and I bit into a big piece of chicken cartilage in the chicken salad. It tasted OK, but I wouldn’t order it again. It was fairly busy so people must like the restaurant. I wouldn’t go back based on this experience though.

I really like this place. It has a small town neighborhood feel. The decor is perfect for Lake Forest and it really is a great place to sit and just people watch. It has a nice quaint feel about it.
The only downside of the seating is that you are really close to other tables. The upside is that they have so much different seating options. You can sit outside or inside, in different rooms. This restaurant does not feel like a restaurant, but as if you were at a private home. It is laid back and has a great vibe.
The food that I had was very good. I enjoyed the filet, it was done exactly to my liking (medium-rare) and had a bit of char on the outside. The fries were absolutely delicious. The marrow butter was really good.
My dining party was very happy with their entrees and deserts and drinks.

Whenever I come to Lake Forest, I always eat here with my family. They have amazing food, and very fast service. We always used to get the donuts for dessert, but I haven’t seen them on the menu recently. I like to get the Amish chicken, which is really good. I also got the fish and chips once and it was absolutely delicious. My family and I love Market House!

The patio was nice and shaded from umbrellas and trees. The food tasted great too. My biggest complaints is it was overcrowded. Way too many tables outside, we were basically sitting on other people. Because of the table density, service was very slow. There food did taste great, but overpriced in my opinion. Probably would not return during peak lunch hours.

Great menu variety. Went with a large party and we tried neatly the whole menu. No complaints. Only small knock was the protein bowls are served cold and ot wasnt clear from menu description. Nice portions especially on the fish entrees.

The menu is pretty underwhelming. The food isn’t seasoned well and, in my opinion, is too expensive given the quality. The atmosphere is very nice, upscale and cozy— their drinks are pretty great and are the only reason I’d return.
