Sueño, which is located on E 3rd Street in Dayton, OH, is such a fantastic Mexican restaurant. I recently visited for the first time with my boyfriend, and we had an absolutely wonderful experience! First, the atmosphere is so lovely – this restaurant is decorated so beautifully, and the ambiance is so calm & relaxing. Further, the service is awesome! The staff at the bar that took care of us were attentive, kind, and had fantastic recommendations regarding their cocktails + dishes.
Regarding drinks, I tried their Sun Not Needed, which was absolutely fantastic (it’s very watermelon forward, so incredibly refreshing). In addition, their take on the Spicy Margarita was fantastic as well – it was SO yummy (with lots of kick)! For appetizers, I highly recommend trying their: (1) Guacamole, (2) Salsa del Dia, (3) Piquillo Peppers, and (4) Chile con Queso. Everything was presented so, so beautifully on arrival to us, and each dish tasted incredibly delicious!! For entrees, you MUST try their Tamales (they’ll change your life). I cannot recommend Sueño enough, this place is the best!! 🙂

We started at the bar with an informative tequila flight. The waiter was highly educated about the food and provided information and answers to our questions. Ceviche, best I have had in the western hemisphere! Highly recommend this location if you are in the Dayton area!

The ceviche was a flavor bomb, the mussels in a Chipotle broth were scrumptious and we decided were the best mussels we had ever had and the carne asada was cooked to perfection. We decided we had one of the best seats in the restaurant near the fireplace. Drinks were very good. Will definitely be back again.

This was my first time at Sueno and the food was delicious. I got the pescado tacos and they were great. They have a spicy kick but it was so flavorful! I can’t wait to come back ! I also love the complementary valet which puts the icing on the cake for top tier customer service.

One of our fav spots!!! If you haven’t been to Sueño yet, add it to your list!!! Our first time here was on a Friday night. We sat at the bar because that’s where we could get a reservation for, tables were booked.
The bartenders were super friendly, made us perfect cocktails, and chatted with us all evening. They had great recommendations for us first timers.
For food, we started with the chips and green salsa and the esquites. Both delicious. For our entrees, we got the marinated pork tacos and the red snapper. Both were delicious but I would go back for the tacos any day of the week.
We ended the dinner with tres leches cake and let me tell you, that was AMAZING.
Can’t wait to go back!

Our first time there and it was awesome! We had the fish tacos, beet salad, and guacamole. They all had really good flavor with just a hint of spice. The atmosphere was very relaxed and it wasn’t noisy at all. We sat at the bar so we got to chat with the bartender. He was very friendly and helpful. We will be going back…

Sueno was lively. And upscale retreat in the heart of dayton. Our server, Dave was a delight, and despite being new was able to answer complex questions about the menu. We could tell from his answers he was prepared and well trained. While this was my first experience at sueño, the bar below, tender mercy, is a favorite. I would highly recommend both.
This, however, was not an inexpensive dinner. But the value was well worth about 75/person INCLUDING 20% gratuity.

Loved my two experiences here. Atmosphere is unmatched, second time I sat near the kitchen/prep area and it was so unique watching the cooks do their thing, cooking on the open fire behind them. The food is pretty great, portion sizes are decent and what you might expect for a restaurant of this caliber. I’ve been told the chicken is the best and I have yet to try it but based off the dishes I have had, I’m sure it would be delicious. The flavors are well done and the cocktails we had were well executed. Chips and guac were also unique but well executed. Service has been great both times we have been here. Quality ingredients reflect prices/service/atmosphere. We will be back. Real Score: 9.2

World class experience. I’ve been here many times before and had amazing experiences and meals, however, this time was exceptional. Our waiter, Matt, was engaging, polite, attentive and had perfect suggestions for our group of 6. Friends from San Francisco and Chicago. All wowed by their experience. Thank you.
