Holy Moly! Can you say fast/great customer service? We found this place after running errands (getting married license) and it turned out to be a fun adventure. The restaurant had a home feel to it. It reminded me of Vermont and how most businesses keep the layout of a real house and just tweak it up, genius! We sat down and immediately thereafter they brought us their delicious coffee and took our orders (we were starving). Literally, a minute later they brought out potatoe soup (must have) and 3 minutes later our steak sandwiches were out. I just love and appreciate when businesses understand the importance of impeccable consumer service! We left feeling full and happy

Quiet quaint building hiding a gem of a restaurant within! Very quiet on a weekday morning, but the staff was friendly, the service impeccable, and the food delicious. Wonderful place with a nice view out the back.

A weekend brunch option would be nice as they are unwilling to serve breakfast after 12pm which was a little disappointing. Service was a little slow as well considering they weren’t overly busy. The food itself was decent but not great. Avoid the potato salad though! The atmosphere is quite unique as it is a 18th century house but overall I’m not sure I’d go back.

Went for Sunday brunch with a party of 11. We had reservations and they were able to seat us quickly. The old farmhouse feel was very quaint and inviting. The service was friendly but VERY slow. I hate fielding the “where is our food” question from the kids.

However, once the food arrived nobody was complaining. My special sandwich sausage egg and cheese on blueberry French toast with blueberry sauce was simply amazing. (See picture). My whole party was extremely happy, from the omelettes, to the fluffy pancakes, and the freshly cut up fruit. There was no room for disappointment.

Great place for any special occasion or just a romantic brunch.

A must stop if in the area.

I recently held my daughter’s bridal shower at Hummingbird House. Liz and staff were so easy to work with throughout. The food was delicious. The upstairs room gave us that cozy, casual and private atmosphere that we wanted. Our guests raved about the food. It was a great experience.

Our first visit to the new Hummingbird House was wonderful! We stopped in for breakfast and were totally satisfied. The eggs were prepared exactly as ordered and tasted so fresh. The multi-grain toast was also fresh and grainy and perfect. Ham and sausage patties were equally of high quality. And the coffee was the best we’ve had in a long time. Service was very pleasant and attentive and we enjoyed a welcome chat with Liz, the owner. Not to be overlooked was the delicious homemade apple pie jam that was recommended by our waitress, Jessie. We certainly will be returning often. The home is beautifully restored and immaculately clean, and the view from the back porch is peaceful and will be even better once Spring arrives. Don’t miss this little gem! The lunch menu is also very appealing.

My mother loves this restaurant and I can see why; it’s charming and feels reminiscent of being in an old English countryside. The views out the windows are beautiful and the food was without fault. A friend and I each enjoyed a delicious omelette and the home fries were *outstanding.* Top it off with kind, friendly service and good coffee? I’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I eat breakfast out every Saturday and were looking for something different–cozy and special. We found it! The food was delicious! Excellent service. It’s only about 1/2 hour from Hackettstown. We took all back roads and enjoyed the ride!

This place is crazy awesome. I’m not big into bed and breakfast style restaurants but this place changed my opinion. Had a steak panini. Impossible to describe it must be experience. Also it came with homemade chips which were dope. I also hear that the chicken waffles are worth dying for. The wait staff was second to none. After speaking to them i found out that the food was farm to table. So if your looking for socially responsible dinning at great prices look no further
