This is a long overdue review for Sunrise Market and Stewz Burgers. We found this gem as we were driving down from visiting Haleakala during our March Spring Break trip to Maui. After working up an appetite, a grass-fed burger from Stewz Burgers felt like it would satisy our hungry bellies. While we waited for freshly-cooked burgers, we enjoyed a lovely chat with the owner, Trina, who gave us the lowdown on all things local to Maui. We also savored the hot coffee and chowed down on baked treats, cinnamon rolls and pound cake. There was also a lovely selection of locally-made decorations, art work, and food items. This was one of our most memorable experiences in Maui -we felt so welcome and loved taking the time to hang out with locals and enjoy amazing food. Certainly looking forward to coming back in the near future!

During the tsunami emergency on Maui, my husband and I sought safety on higher ground — in this case, near the Maui Sunrise Market. Most parking areas were already full, but there was still space here, so we parked our car along with a few others. Many more cars came by looking for a safe spot to wait but had to drive on due to lack of space.
About an hour later, the owner of the Maui Sunrise Market approached us and, despite the clear emergency situation, asked us to leave because it was private property. We were shocked by the lack of compassion during such a critical moment. Instead of offering help or understanding, we were simply told to move on.
In times of crisis, you hope to see kindness and humanity — unfortunately, we experienced the opposite here. Truly disappointing.

Had a delicious lemon raspberry muffin and two of stewz burgers – everything was fantastic! They have some other jams/food items from the surrounding area which looked fantastic as well. Also a chill cat who was happy to be pet.

We were happy to find a picnic place coming down the volcano. We had brought some sandwiches and were going to a public picnic place a few miles down the road but decided to support the locals. We bought a few items and drinks but were disappointed the a guy yeld from the window no outside food. Understandable if there food truck was open and if a sign was posted. If so we would not have stopped and they would make nothing. The small loaf $14 banana bread was dry and tasted old. We will avoid this place in the future.

Pretty cool spot, we got beautifully smelled local made candles, the owner chatted with us and told us about the history of the area, burgers were delicious, good spot to support local business.

I’ve stopped by here 4 times now and they were not open any of them, even though google maps said they were. I know GM is not official. Please update your opening hours if you can! It looks really nice, and we are dying to check it out. I gave them 5 stars because I don’t want to ruin their average.

Stop here on the way to Haleakala for yummy snacks, cold drinks, cute gifts and the SWEETEST owner Trina! I only wish I had more time to spend here. Friendliest service I experienced in all of Maui! Aloha!

We tried to stop for coffee on the way up to Haleakala. No hours listed on Google and no one answering phones. We arrived to find it closed. Just a quick Google update could help customers avoid frustration!
