I discovered Tacos Luna this weekend and I have to tell someone about it or I’m going to pop. This was EASILY the best Mexican food I’ve had in 30 years. I can’t stress this enough. The owners are so kind and know exactly what they’re doing. The meat was flavored to perfection while the tortillas and intrediants were second to none with how fresh they were, it wasn’t a sloppy mess in a box, it was well kept and their sauces are amazing. The queso was incredible as well! If you are in Winchester or ANYWHERE close enough , make the drive right now, and get this amazing food.
I wish I could give it more than 5 stars but google said no, so I’m just going to say 1000/5 stars I refuse to eat a burrito from anywhere else from here on out, give these people your money right now. They are on top of Winchesters food list and I don’t see them being de-throned anytime soon. Word of mouth is so important and I want to see their family and business continue to find success! EASILY the best burrito IN ALL OF KENTUCKY, hands down. Go eat here now. Rant over
The menu is a celebration of traditional Mexican cuisine, featuring tacos, burritos, tortas, and more, all crafted with fresh ingredients and traditional recipes . Diners can choose from a variety of meats, including steak, chicken, marinated pork, and chorizo, each seasoned to perfection . The use of fresh masa in their tortillas adds an authentic touch that elevates each bite.
The atmosphere is equally noteworthy. With its colorful decor and lively music, the restaurant transports guests to the bustling streets of Mexico . Whether you’re enjoying a meal indoors or on the outdoor patio, the vibe is laid-back and welcoming. It’s a delightful surprise to find such an oasis of flavor and culture nestled in the heart of Winchester.
Just wasn’t good. Not to mention the price tag, $90 bucks for two adults, and two kids. Remember, these were tacos, chips, and lunch menu items. Granted, the plate appearance wasn’t bad. The food just wasn’t good for the price and the chicken was possibly bad. Honestly, it’s a no-go, never again.
So I told her that wasn’t right. And the dip was also on sale and she did honor the dip sales price.
But she would not honor the taco sales price.
I ended up just taking the tip and I used her tip money to make up the difference.
But you got to watch them they will overcharge you and that’s just not right.
I’m more than likely won’t go back it was good, but it wasn’t that good.
He had the 3 Birria tacos, she had the Birria quesadilla, and I had the Birria loaded nachos. We ordered question and chips as an appetizer. And we all had water as drinks.
The queso and chips was a large portion! The chips were fresh and crisp, but the queso was lacking in flavor. It seemed to be just a Mexican cheese blend, there were no peppers, or other things to give it the kick I’m accustom too. My recommendation is to pass on this appetizer.
The tacos were awesome according to the PBF, lol. He had been there before, so that should say something that he came back and ordered the same thing again. The came with a consume to dip in, and he added guacamole.
My daughter had the quesadilla, and although it looked rather plain, it was loaded with flavor. Had to let it cool down as it was piping hot, but once cooled it just melted in your mouth.
I had the nachos! And the were better than they looked!! The fresh pico on top was a deal sealer for me. It made up for the lack luster cheese, probably the same queso. Again the chips were fresh and crisp with just a hint of saltiness. The meat was tender and the consume on the side was a bowl of warm deliciosness. I’m not a sour cream fan so I got it on the side. My daughter quickly called dibs and dunked her quesadilla.
My one complaint, and I’m being picky, because they don’t charge for water. But for that cost savings, you can taste the chlorine from the tap. I would have gladly paid $1.00 for bottled or filtered water. But you get what you pay for.
The atmosphere is rustic, with a pleasent touch of Latin culture sprinkled about. It is a cozy spot, so to say space inside is tight but it lends to the overall charm. Parking is a little odd as we had to park at a neighboring business, but not a bad thing, just odd.
Service was excellent!! Orders were correct, served with a friendly smile, and checked on us twice to make sure everything was to our liking.
It was well worth the $40 for 3 people to be stuffed.
If your going to be near Wichester KY. And looking for a new place to try I highly recommend giving this great establishment your business.
