I am beyond happy to have discovered this authentic Vietnamese restaurant! It’s always exciting to find a place that truly delivers on flavor and authenticity—and this one absolutely does.
I ordered the Bún Bò Huế, but with a twist. I prefer seafood instead of the traditional meat, and they were more than happy to accommodate my request. And let me tell you—it was hands down the best Bún Bò Huế I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The broth was incredibly rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Every bite was packed with deliciousness.

They also served it with the proper vegetables and herbs that truly complement the dish—and they were generous with them, which I really appreciated. Nothing worse than being stingy with the fresh accompaniments!

I’ll definitely be back. This place is a gem for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

This little hole-in-the-wall is a go-to spot for comforting Vietnamese dishes. The Bánh Xèo and Bánh Khọt are solid choices, but my personal favorites are the Bún Bò Huế and Bún Mắm — packed with flavor and absolutely satisfying. They also take credit cards, which is always a plus.

It’s a must-stop in Oakland if you’re craving Vietnamese food beyond just pho or Chinese options. The space is small, so expect a wait during peak hours. Street parking only, so be sure not to leave any valuables in your car.

Super delicious!
Quick service!
Very stuffy and humid as expected.

We came here for our lunch break hour and were delighted by our meals.

Ordered the large bun bo hue and medium pho dac biet. The large was very generous and filling. Both broths were tasty and and mostly balanced. We felt the food was fairly priced. This was my first time trying Huyet/blood cake and was surprised I liked it. Wasn’t gelatinous like I thought. Their tripe is SUPER good. It had flavor instead of just being there for texture, and it vaguely reminded me of menudo.

Also ordered a sugarcane juice and ice thai tea. Both were super delicious and fresh. Definitely worth noting that they fill the entire cup with ice and poured the beverages below ice level which is something you might not expect for $6

They had great condiment options at the table but definitely need to clean then as they were super dirty.

There was a rush that came I’m around 1PM which makes sense because the food is great. Definitely will be coming back to try some more!

This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the Bay Area. Where else can you get authentic Bun Bo Hue and Mi Quang, except maybe San Jose and SF, and they give you a ton of veggies, unlike most restaurants. Plus you always get a grissly bone with your Bun Bo Hue, and pork blood, otherwise it wouldn’t be authentic! If you like vietnamese food, you gotta come here. Trust me, I grew up eating vietnamese food and have been to Vietnam, including Da Nang, where my wife was born, and it doesn’t get much better than this. 5 stars

Pretty good Vietnamese restaurant. Their dry Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang tastes almost the same as the original from Vietnam. I can said that this is one of the best Hu Tieu Nam Vang I’ve ever tried yet in the bay area. Their Bun Mam is also great, according to my friend. They have some spice add-on trays like pickle chily pepper and garlic which is super good. Price is okay. The employees are super friendly. Would definitely com back.

One of the better restaurant in Oakland, the name is taken from a famous city in Central Vietnam. They specialized in dishes from that region. Small, cozy and the food is as authentic as it can be. I ordered “Bun bo Hue” (Spicy noodle soup), I would say it’s quite tasty. Credit cards accepted.

Da Nang Quan is my go to restaurant to get my Bun Mam fix. I feel this noodle soup dish is a severely underrated that’s packed with hella flavor from the fermented fish based broth that may be an acquired taste to lots but for me, definitely up there with the likes of bun bo hue, bun rieu or pho. Nicknamed as the Vietnamese gumbo, it comes packed with fish, shrimp, pork slices and crispy pork belly.

Da Nang Quan now makes it on the sweeter side but adding lime and peppers calms that sweetness down with plenty of veggies and makes it just about perfect.
