Stopped in for our Sunday lunch. My bride had the chicken enchiladas which she said were ok but not great.
I tried the Chillaquilles with red sauce and eggs over medium. Wow that red sauce was pretty hot, although not the hottest I have ever endured, but certainly hotter than any I have had on Chillaquilles.
The star of the entire meal beside our friendly and attentive waitress was the queso we ordered. It was thicker and kept warmer than most any we have had in recent memories.

I stayed in this town for work purposes and during the 2 months I’ve stayed, me n my partner sticked to this Mexican place ☺️we both liked how this place has more authentic flavors nothing compared to aydas where it’s more Tex mex flavors ♀️ sure they lack some flavors but that’s why there’s salt n pepper on the side to add me n my partner always got the 2 Gordita dinner plate carne asada n Alpastor that comes w rice n beans on the side really delicious after a long day after work but thanks to the chef n a big shout out to our server Araceli (sorry if I spelled your name wrong ) that always served n attended us OH N THE HORCHATAS ARE AMAZING!

First of all I can’t even rate this place as low as I want. So I eat out a lot, especially at Mexican restaurants, and this place was one of the worst I’ve been to. I ordered three steak tacos (Mexican style) — they came with one sad lime wedge and zero flavor. Completely bland. We asked for water, and it came with maybe two ice cubes. Not even cold. That’s just lazy.
The rice and beans looked so bad I didn’t even bother trying them. My friend told me not to waste my time, and he was right. He asked our server how the burritos were, and she froze like a deer in headlights. Then said she “usually just gets the tacos.” When he asked how long she’s worked there, she said a year and six months. You’ve worked here for over a year and can’t even speak on the food? That says it all.
I’d rather spend twice as much on food that’s actually worth eating or just grab fast food somewhere else. This place isn’t worth the time or money. The only thing that wasn’t terrible was the bathroom — and that’s not a compliment.

I have eaten at this restaurant and takeout many times and it has always been good…… until today! We ordered takeout and they messed our order up and we called to bring it back and get remade, and not only did they say they would not remake it, they also said they would not refund our money! This is Not how you treat customers, let alone customers who frequently eat their food! VERY DISSAPOINTING

I had breakfast here and it was great ! My friends and I got a little bit of everything and shared. I had the #1 and loved it and I also bought the Mexican omelette , which was good. Had some French toast and pancakes also good and my friend had the biscuits and gravy and like it. This will be our new breakfasts spot. It’s the best breakfast in Rensselaer that’s for sure because we have been to every restaurant in town for breakfast. I even think I might like them better than SP19 !! The service was great
