Bay-bee…. Big Mama’s is it!!!! My child lives in Augusta and wanted a home cooked meal. This was a referral and I was overly pleased. Note- I am NOT a huge fan of soul food but ate every single bit of my food!! Prices are reasonable. Food was seasoned well. No complaints.

Through community outreach for work, I supported the Great Commission Church as they fed the community. The minister provided 100 hot meals to members of the Augusta community. There were workers in uniform, people from the behavioral health community, and a campaign committee to all stop in and receive a free meal. The pastor evangelized to those who were interested. The customers expressed their gratitude and gave positive regards for their meals.

My son was in town from NJ and wanted to eat soul food on his birthday. We were surprised and embarrassed to learn about Big Mama’s. I’ve driven past this plaza countless times on my way to VA appointments. We were glad we came here to this local minority owned small business to get some down-home cooking. My son and daughter had ox tails, and I had grilled catfish! The food was GREAT and perfectly seasoned. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing, but we’re allowed to enjoy our meal in the bakery area after closing!

Admittedly, Big Mama’s was out of my comfort zone (I’m a white guy from the Pacific Northwest). But I took a chance and DoorDash food from big mamas. Everything was really good. The fried pork chops were juicy and tasted great. I also got liver and onions with fried okra and fried green tomatoes. All it was very good and not expensive. I would recommend this place, if you have the chance

I felt like i was at my grandma crib eating sunday dinner for real. The food is good, however some of the side dishes were a little under seasoned for my own taste but still very tasty. Nice portion sizes for the price. The staff seem really nice and polite. The place is cute and cozy. Will definitely try again.

They food was great. I had a 4 veggie vegetable plate and a slice of key-lime cake. The veggies were delicious except for the stewed okra, it Was too salty for my liking. This was my first time ordering take out from there, but when I’m passing through I will stop again. I ate my food, so all I have left is my dessert.

More a take out place than eat in but they do have a few tables for dining on site. Order at the counter then get the food …. No matter if you’re eating in or taking to go. MacNCheese was old school home made with Milk and Egg Custard …. Delicious. Catfish wasn’t actually catfish …. It was Swai but it was seasoned well. Collard Greens were tender and tasted okay with vinegar and hot sauce. Sweet Tea was fresh brewed and delicious. Fried Green tomatoes were delicious.
