First time at Stephen’s.
My dining partner and I both had the Southwest dish (bowl?). One chicken one steak. We enjoyed the flavors. The meat was only a little more done than we like, but did not hurt our experience. Nice setting, able to talk with each other, good flavors. We particularly enjoyed a side dish more than we expected. I’ll call it a “slaw” because I didn’t pay attention to the name, but it included sliced cauliflower in a vinegar dressing. We both enjoyed it. Main dish was good, and for the price I was happy with the serving of steak.

I tried to come here with a friend who was visiting from out of state.The bouncer denied my friend’s ID for being out of state, then her passport as well. When she asked why she was being denied, he grabbed her by her breasts and pushed her out of the doorway. He proceeded to do this to the two other people for being from Nigeria. He then pushed more people out while calling them the R and the F slurs. When we called him out for that, he proceeded to call my autistic friend the R slur as well. Overall it was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a bar, which sucks considering I was there for less than 5 minutes.

Disappointing Experience – Won’t Be Back
I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. It took almost 40 minutes just to get a simple drink, and when it finally arrived, it tasted watered down and poorly mixed.
The place didn’t feel very clean, with sticky tables and a not-so-pleasant smell lingering around.
To top it all off, the staff seemed disinterested and unfriendly. No smiles, no effort, just a vibe that made us feel like we were inconveniencing them by being there. Definitely not worth the time or money. Won’t be coming back.

Please make an effort to cover the other brick walls in the same coating you have in the new part of the bar, because the writing everywhere else in the bar indicates that this action is okay. Some skinny dude with a tribal tattoo on his calf and a scruffy mustache threw my sharpie outside yesterday because he “caught” us writing our names on the walls. It’s everywhere in the bar, so I don’t think the staff should be trained expect drunk college student not to do it. This guy was just on some sort of power trip and wanted to be rude. He very easily could’ve just asked us not to do write on the walls, and we would’ve respected that. Like I said, the wall in the new part of the bar with that coating on it is free of sharpie/can easily be cleaned, so maybe consider doing that on ALL the walls to avoid your staff making stupid decisions like this one in the future. The food is fantastic for the price. As long as you’re there before it becomes a college bar the atmosphere and service is good too.

Hostess told us we were welcome to wait at the bar until she cleared a table. She forgot about us and sat 3 other parties. When I asked another host what the deal was, he told me basically the seating was first come first serve. Would have been nice to know that before the hostess told us to wait for her at the bar. I ate my food standing up. Food came without silverware or napkins.

First of all, you guys sold out and went corporate in 2013. Went back to visit January 2023 and there was no toilet paper or paper towels. We informed the GM and he laughed and said “we don’t restock the women’s bathroom.” We promptly set our drinks down and left. Such a bummer. Used to be cool.

Definitely enjoy the atmosphere here, especially the food and drinks. Every employee there is super nice and outgoing. Definitely need to work on getting to the people who sit down at bar and or booth for food. But everything else is great.
