New American eats & cocktails in a warm, modern space at the Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles Hotel.

This place is the reason why I extended my 3 day stay at the Sheraton to a 6 day stay. I easily spent 500-600 dollars here in that week, doing both lunch and dinner. Yes, it is a very expensive place with 20% gratuity on top, but I still continued to tip on top of that because the service was fantastic.
Everything is pricey, but the portions are robust, the quality of the meat is astounding in this day and age and the drinks were not watered down. If anything, it felt like every meal was perfectly filling and every drink was enough to get me a bit loose.
Overall, exquisite Americana food and mixed drinks by a staff that actually cares. Above average presentation, top tier quality.
The BEST Buffalo Chicken Wings I ever had in my life, I legitimately had them with their house made ranch daily every lunch, they were so good.

Pretty typical restaurant at a hotel. The service was good, the food was decent. Hard to be sure about the atmosphere because part of the area was blocked off for a retirement party.
Had dinner here again. The service was good. It was pretty empty and the room was fairly cold. The waiter, who was wearing a heavy jacket, gave my wife a couple of pool towels to keep her warm. 5 service stars for his efforts to keep her warm!

The food was excellent. I ordered the 12 oz Strip Loin with a local Mango wheat beer and it was delicious. The steak was grilled perfectly. My boys had and enjoyed the chicken wings and my wife had the nacho platter which was absolutely massive. The service was efficient but not when it came time to pay our bill. It took a very long time for the server to bring it to us. The food, though, was worth the few extra minutes for the bill.

Costero Bistro is located inside the Sheraton Gateway Hotel, they offer American fare with cocktails in a modern setting. We were a party of 6 and decided on lunch and dinner at the hotel. The great thing about being a bigger party is trying all the food. Sadly, during lunch because of the quantity of the food ordered, the quality had gone down.
Lunch
Barbacoa Nachos – 1/5 Came out first but the meat was cold, it was terrible
Fish and Chips – 2/5 Boxed not fresh, missing the coleslaw that I saw on another pic.
Barbacoa Tacos – 3/5 needed more seasoning
Soy Glazed Salmon – 4/5 Only thing that came out steaming hot.
Texas BBQ Burger – 3/5 too much BBQ sauce, fries were cold.
Pasta Primavera – 3/5 not bad for a vegetarian dish
Lunch rate 3/5
Dinner
Old school Taco Salad – 4/5 delish, can add chicken but not steak
Wild Mushroom pizza – 5/5 simple and delicious
Spicy Italian Pizza – 4/5 came out hot but a bit salty
Hawaiian BBQ Pizza – 4/5 Nice sweetness and tang
Cesar Salad – 3/5 typical
Simple green salad – 3/5 over dressed (Vinaigrette) – remember to ask for dressings on the side
Dinner rating – 4/5

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The cobb salad was the best I have ever had. So amazing that I forced myself to eat it all. Lol. Couldn’t waste one bite. He enjoyed his fish and chips that came with three pieces of fish! Our waiter was awesome, he was understanding of my questions and kept the sodas coming. We had a great meal here.

I didn’t love my cocktails but that’s the only thing. Otherwise the food was delicious, somehow they made a simple cheese quesadilla a 5 star meal. I thought the service was perfect too

So, I got in from Florida around 12 and was looking forward to getting lunch at the hotel since I hadn’t eaten since I took off at 6 am. Unfortunately, the amazing bartender Sergio had to tell me that no food was available until 4 pm. (He did manage to scrounge up some chips and salsa to tide me over until my Lyft arrived to take me to another restaurant.)
Apparently, management thought that cutting lunch service was a good move. I sat at the bar for 45 minutes and watched him have to tell 7 people the kitchen wasn’t open and several order food for delivery.
Whoever made this decision should probably come hang out at the bar around lunch and see the results of your brilliant cost-cutting plan.

Rudely expensive and very small portions, I got a serve of fish and chips and got basically three fish nuggets, small handful of chips. Then I got a dessert and it was a small tea cup sized thing for $14 so inasked them to take it away and did not get charged. A 20% tip is automatically added to the bill even if you want to tip less or nothing, based on already expensive food or poor service; as I got, and wait time for food is very long. I do not recommend.

I got a turkey sandwich which is okay $17 and an ipa hypnotic $10. A little bit pricey but what do you expect, you’re in a hotel. Food is okay. If you have some time, I suggest you explore areas around the hotel. There’s lots of restaurants around the area that is cheaper. I gave it a 3 star because of the price point.
