The bb.q in our name stands for Best of the Best Quality, and that’s exactly what you can expect from every one of our restaurants. Our Korean fried chicken is crispier, juicier, and more tender than anything you’ve tasted before, and our sauces provide an eclectic mix of flavor. Every dish is the result of both longstanding Korean tradition and modern research and development from our very own Chicken University. It’s a tremendous amount of work, but it’s all worth it when you take that first bite.

There have been a lot of fried chicken spots popping up around Worcester County, & I’ve tried a few, but after tonight’s visit, bb.q Chicken US in Shrewsbury is easily the best I’ve had so far. I ordered the fried dumplings, honey garlic wings, & the Caribbean spice bowl. I started with the bowl—super crispy chicken with a nice kick & a huge portion. Next were the honey garlic wings, which were insanely crispy, almost candied, with great flavor. The potstickers also definitely hit the spot. Everything is made fresh to order, so there was a bit of a wait, but it was 100% worth it. I’d definitely recommend ordering ahead.

Try the Korean chicken place. It was great.
.
I really don’t know why it’s called barbecue chicken. It’s Korean fried chicken and it has a chain.
.
Got the hot and spicy Korean fried chicken the whole chicken for $30 plus tax so it came up to approximately $32. The skin was absolutely crunchy and flavorful
from and the chicken was very flavorful for also, on the side of a tiny pickled radish.
There are a few tables inside where you can sit and eat .

Went in on a Saturday Summer afternoon, inside was spacious and their was no line. I think their was a kiosk to order self checkout style but the young women at the counter motioned me over which was nice. The food was decent, not sure what others said about little meat on the Chicken as I got a 8CT Wing and the meat quantity was comparable to say Hooters level. I liked the wings it has a fantastic crunch to it and the sauce (I got Soy Garlic) was flavorful and the right amount. I also got the Chicken fried rice which was just ok. I was expecting softer rice but it is chewy and the Chicken bits are very very tiny and dry. It does come with one fried egg which is nice. Its fine I guess as it wants you to get cheese with it and I can see why you would. Overall its a fine takeout place and I do of a matter of fact recommend it. An 8CT Wing set and Chicken fried Rice (no +2.00 Rice) will set you back 30 bucks so I probably won’t partake this too frequently.

Great fried chicken. Still crunchy and tasty even when doing a take out. Recommend to order ahead as they prepare the fried chicken fresh and typical wait time is 20-25 mins

The fried chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The rice cakes are soft and chewy, with a nice creamy flavor.

We are fans of this chain as we used to live in Lowell and have it frequently. We live in Worcester on the other side of the city from this location, but I recently discovered that doordash will deliver! We got soy garlic wings, gangnam style wings, the rose tteokbokki and the chicken fried rice. Even after making the long drive over to this side of the city, the food was still excellent. I do have to say the prices, particularly for the fried rice, are a bit high for the amount of food you get. Even so, the chicken is always crispy and flavorful, and I’m so happy to have them nearby!

I love this chain so much, the chicken is the crispiest chicken ever and the rice cakes were also very good. All the flavors are spot on would get again. There aren’t many tables in this location though. Very clean and nice otherwise.

I went to the opening day and thought their food was okay but not great. I haven’t been to any of their other locations. The sauces tasted fine but more mass produced and I’ve had much better Korean fried chicken. My biggest issue was there was way too much breading and it was extremely heavy. It felt heavier than regular American fried chicken. Some bites I had were of only batter. The chicken itself was moist and tasted good.
I would recommend bone-in wings over the whole chicken as the breast meat was dry and don’t think you get significantly more meat.
Spicy Galbi was my favorite out of the 3 I tried. It had a nice heat and smokey flavor.
Soy Garlic was also good. Very clear soy and garlic flavor.
Secret Sauce was a letdown for me. It just wasn’t that great and tasted mediocre.
Overall, I’m happy to have a Korean restaurant in the area but will only come here occasionally. The heaviest of the breading was disappointing since KFC is supposed to be very light and crispy.
There’s a small 12 person parking lot and 4 tables inside. Caters mostly to takeout orders.
Things are always busier during a grand opening but expect a wait. I’d suggest ordering ahead.
UPDATE:
I am changing review to a 3 unfortunately after eating my leftovers the next day of the whole chicken (in toaster oven to make them crispy). Several pieces were just the ribs, but were heavily breaded and there was no meat underneath. The breast meat was very dry and tough.
I talked to a friend who likes the Cambridge location & tried Shrewsbury and he also thought it was significantly worse quality. Hopefully management can improve this.

Tried this place out with my partner and friend today and it was good. The frozen taro is soooooo good! I was really vibing with the tteokbokki. The chicken was really crispy, I went with the honey garlic flavor. We also tried the kimchi fried rice, it was meh, i probably wouldn’t get it again. The service was also fine, we ordered on a tablet and it was about a 15-20 minute wait. The inside of the store is pretty basic and I think could use more tables, and decor? It seems like it’s more allocated for takeout orders. Biggest hit for me though was the Frozen Taro haha. I would come back to try some other flavors.

I got an order of chicken, dumplings, and rose tteokbokki. Food tasted great!
However, I was disappointed that they left out my radishes and the dumpling sauce. It’s pretty expensive so I would expect that little things like that be paid attention to. Luckily I had some Korean pickled radishes at home that I was able to cut up, but I’d rather not have had to do that.
