The drinks were great as was the service!! Our waitress did a great job attending to all the patrons, as she was the only one on duty. We went on a Tuesday night and she said that it wasn’t usually very busy, but they were hustling, big time.
Undisclosed upcharges for condiments — keep a close eye on your bill. My wet burrito had so much sauce it was nearly pouring off the plate, didn’t finish it — might as well call it wet burrito soup.
After ordering, our waitress asked if we “wanted salsa and sour cream on the side on the side” which sounded like it came with the meal. I said sure — only to find an extra $2 charge on the bill.
I also read another review where management replied that “not everyone likes sour cream,” so they charge for it. That’s fine — just say so up front. “Would you like to add sour cream for a dollar?” See how simple that is?
Took away off a couple stars for blaming me because I didn’t memorize the entire menu. We clearly told the waitress what we wanted, and she offered the extras in a way that implied they were included.
If management doesn’t want to learn from this, maybe the staff will. I took $3 out of the tip after realizing what happened. Thanks for confirming your little condiment hustle — won’t be back.
My initial reaction was – right on the lake= expensive! … Or so i assumed, but decided to gamble. The entrance was a little hard to find, but it got better once we got inside. The menu was generally the same as most other taverns, with a few unique items.
Seafood is expensive anywhere you go, there’s no way around that cost. That said, It wasnt quite as expensive as I expected. $10-20 for most food, with some signature dishes going into the 20s. I had the petite steak & shrimp with a side of sweet potatoes & toast for $20. Draft beer for about $5
What stood out the most was the service!! Our waitress was Morgan, very personable, nice and engaging!! Often times I consider waitressing to be a dead art, that certainly was not the case here!!! A good waitress makes customers feel valued, welcomed and want to come back. And she sure did! If I’m in the area again, I’ll be sure to stop by
The food and service is great.
Editing my original review, all though I still don’t love the nachos the other food is worth the visit, the chicken sandwiches are absolutely delicious, good pizza great chicken wings and the best salad bar around, the staff are always accommodating and working towards making this place better.
Live music, outdoor bar and ice cold beer, happy to regularly come here!
The seafood was good but the steaks all came out all cooked over done from what we ordered. Even the two other people that came with us got the ribeye and theirs were over cooked. That’s 5 steaks total that were all well done that should have been medium rare and medium. All the steaks were brown throughout and tough to chew. One person with the ribeye sent her’s back and got it recooked and it came out perfect the second time. 3 other people, two porterhouse and one ribeye just wanted it taken off the bill. Everyone continued eating and everything was fine. My girlfriend made a comment to make sure we still tip the waitress for the full amount of the bill like we had still had the steaks on the bill. We ordered more drinks and shots to celebrate my birthday. One of the drink orders didn’t show up and I had to remind the waitress of it.
The last round of drinks got messed up the worst though. A crown on the rocks was ordered by my parents friend and my girlfriend got crown with red bull. Both look very similar. My girlfriend was given a drink and the waitress walked away. My parents friend hadn’t received his drink yet. My girlfriend took a sip of the drink that was placed in front of her and she could tell right away that it was straight crown on the rocks. So she was going to keep drinking it and so my girlfriend just put some coke in it instead. The waitress realized she made a mistake and gave my girlfriend her crown and red bull and asked if she had taken a drink of the first drink already. My girlfriend said yes she already drank from it and the waitress took the drink back up to the bar. My girlfriend watched her put a few ice cubes back into it and bring it back to my parents friend. We all could tell by the color that it wasn’t straight crown on the rocks. It was the same crown on the rocks that my girlfriend had that she had put the coke in, hence the darker color. Didn’t even try at least changing the glass or straw. Major health code violation. My parents friend that drinks crown on the rocks instantly could tell it wasn’t straight crown. So the waitress took it back to the bar and had the bartender pour a crown on the rocks. We got another round of shots and went to cash out. The bartender came over with the waitress when she brought back the bills and told my parents friend that we made the waitress feel uncomfortable. We were all so confused. When I asked why the bartender said the waitress overheard us saying that we weren’t going to tip her because of the mishaps that had happened. That wasn’t the case at all. Both me and my girlfriend have worked in the service industry. We understand that the food being overcooked wasn’t her fault. Everything was great up until the point where she tried giving a drink to someone that was wrongly made. There was some deception happening where she tried “fixing” a drink order but the right way to fix it would have been to dump it and just pour another crown on the rocks. When I tried explaining everything they just kept saying that I’m making the waitress even more uncomfortable so I just left the building to avoid any confrontation because the cook had come out then you make sure everything was alright. After my mom paid the bill and came back to the car I asked if they had taken the steaks off the bill and she said they didn’t. I asked why not and she said she was told that the steaks were cooked to temp as ordered. Say what?! I asked for a steak cooked medium and it was left on way too long. No pink inside. Brown all the way through. So everything was fine up until getting the bill. Was definitely still going to tip the waitress for the full amount (my mom still tipped her 20%). But for you not to take off the steaks from the bill is totally messed up. And don’t lie about drink orders. Just fix it how it should be. Kylie was our waitress. Terrible way to handle things. Will not be back.
Best yet I ordered onion rings, she charged us for a double portion on them.
I asked for a paper receipt. She never gave us one and we weren’t about to make a scene about it.
Low class!!!
