This classy establishment has a great location and friendly service, but the food quality didn’t match the price point, with mixed results. While the pork belly taco and elote were decent, the birria tacos were disappointingly bland, and its accompanying consommé was a greasy butter (should be beef juice from the meat) and lacked proper seasoning. The restaurant should consider revising its birria recipe.
I mentioned the birria taco issue to the staff and they brought out another container, hoping it would be a better experience. It wasn’t, being just more of the same.

Went to Desperados Cantina for the first time tonight in Distillery District. I was always skeptical about going there to eat because everytime I’m in distillery district this place is a ghost town. People walk right by and don’t even blink an eye at it. My birria tacos, PHENOMENAL. Chorizo queso, PHENOMENAL. The churro, warm, crispy, to die for. I don’t know how this place isn’t buzzing!!!!!

We really enjoyed our visit at Desperados Cantina located in the Distillery District. They have what seems to be the largest tequila selection in town! Not only do they serve great cocktails, but their tacos are so good. I highly recommend the hot pepper chicken taco and the pork belly taco. They also have a nice patio right next to a creek with a beautiful fireplace. Highly recommended!

This was our first stop of the day and it was fantastic! 2 for 1 margarita special was great! I got the spicey mango margarita and it was perfect. We got the chips and salsa and our server picked great salsas for us. Atmosphere was laid back and wonderful. Bartender was friendly and upbeat. Loved the place!

Huge torta and really good shrimp tacos (both shrimp tacos on their menu are highly palatable). Cocktails are awesome and great ambiance for a date night. Highly recommend their chips and salsa if you like spicy food

I love the whole ambiance of the place. The food was delicious. We spend mother’s day there and the whole staff was very nice and gracious. The bartender was great, she was super nice a knowledgeable. Was able to make me great mocktails for me and my mom. My kids love been able to sit by the water. The whole atmosphere is very calming, but at the same time there is such a live feeling in the area. The open and shareable culture of the stablishments (minus alcohol) is really neat. We will be coming back.

Several of us came her for lunch while in the area for business meetings. The whole complex is very interesting and loaded with fun restaurants. This restaurant is wild, because you order in one building and then, if you’re eating there, you walk across the walkway to a different place, the bar and that’s where you sit. They’ll bring you your food when it’s ready.
They have lots of interesting items on the menu, but whatever you get, try their salsas and sauces because they have plenty and they all are outstanding! Everything here is very fresh and the freshness comes through in the flavor.
Their chicken tacos were great, but their charro beans were amazing! Service was excellent and very friendly, with a smile! Prices are great too, as you can get their lunch special for $11 which comes with 2 tacos and a side and a drink – awesome deal!
Highly recommend stopping in here to try their tacos and other food… We definitely enjoyed it!

We were warmly greeted the moment we walked in on a Sunday at 11 am. The concept here is to order at the counter, place a disk on your table, and someone brings your food. My husband’s breakfast tacos didn’t have any chorizo as was advertised but were otherwise fine. My shrimp taco was absolutely amazing. They offer outdoor seating as well. The restaurant is in walking distance of 2 craft distilleries and several other businesses.
