For anyone traveling this is a perfect little spot to stop in for breakfast as well as lunch/dinner. Got all the staples, freshly made sausage gravy, plate sized pancakes, French toast, omelettes etc for breakfast til 11 and that’s when the magic happens. At 11 they serve some of the best smoked meats in northern Va. They have pulled pork that has no fat or gristle amazing flavor, as well as some of the biggest ribs I’ve ever seen. Don’t even get me started on that brisket, it is to die for! So tender juicy and delicious. On Saturdays ONLY they do a Texas Twinkie where they stuff brisket, house made pimento cheese, cream cheese then wrap it in bacon before putting it on the smoker. I cannot rave enough about this place.

We couldn’t believe this inconspicuous place inside an Exxon pump turned out to be one of the best BBQ places in Virginia and we have tried a few. The brisket is moist snd incredibly flavorful, the bbq chicken was outrageously good one of the best. Sides were a goos size with the platters. I enjoyed the cole slaw and the mac and cheese. The owners/ staff were fantastic and happy to share lots of information without pushing anything on us. Food served without any delay. The menu has lots of options beef, pork, chicken. And great options for vegetarian in your party! Mushroom, grilled cheese. We didn’t try the burgers but gonna be back for that snd the Bama fries! 10 star on food quality, service and price.

At first look, prices are a little above average. Once served, the portions are very generous. The sides can be shared by 2-3 people. Everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious. I highly recommend for sit in or take out!

Your not going to find a better place. The owners are very nice and down home country folk. The food is absolutely amazing. The sandwiches are unique and good size. Everything is home made and made to order. They make all the sides and sauces right there. They had peach pie and let me tell ya, you better get a slice.

Very friendly place. The food taste is not consistent. We enjoyed the pulled pork sandwiches and each time we go, they have a different flavor. The last time, the amount of cumin spice turned us away and we haven’t been back.

My husband got the bama slama and I got the bama fries. Everyone in my family loves pulled/smoked pork except me. I can definitely live w/o it. This however, was the best pulled pork I have EVER eaten. It was so moist and flavorful. We will take a road trip just to have it again.

Inside Country Mart attached to Exxon. Yep gas station restaurant. Has seating. Order at food counter and take receipt to store register like Wawa and Filling Co except not kiosk automated. Talk with real human who tells you that everything is made in-house and whose great at the upsell. Thats why there’s also a pie pic bc she said it was the last one and made by the pit master. There’s a pit master. About those Texas Twinkies, man did those taste super good going in. Brown sugar bacon was allowed to really shine bc other components were satisfyingly mild. The sprinkle of shredded cheese, smear of cream cheese, cooked pepper and meat inside gave texture depth to the sweet and savory bacon. The twinkies are heavy. Some kind of fresh veg or salad would pair well digestively. Only sold on weekends? Slice of pie $9, Twinkies $8 piece. Name is a clumsy portmanteau of chicken cow pork fish.
