Very elegant, welcoming for a solo traveler with good attentive, even thoughtfully timed service (rare for Indian & Asian restaurants). But need to agree with other reviewers who found the spice level lacking, even consistently sweet. That said, their Rice was among the most perfectly spice-flavored I’ve ever had. I would return, and ask for “Indian spicy.”

Great to see Diwali have opened a 2nd branch! Food didn’t disappoint. Staff are just as lovely here as the one Georges St! Service was quick! Food very tasty! The Feast Menu was great value too!

Delicious food and elevated atmosphere. I had the chicken vindaloo and my husband had the lamb madras curry. The complimentary appetizer was so good! Super delicious!

Diwali is an amazing restaurant serving Indian and Nepalese food. Nice interiors with a cozy vibe. The place is staffed by very good staff with attention to detail. The food itself is decent. This was my first trip to Dublin so not sure in terms of price if this is an expensive restaurant. The restaurant offered us a complimentary starter which was good. They also offered complimentary drinks at the end which we declined. I would recommend this restaurant and will definitely visit it again.

Food was okay, but the service was fantastic.

Honestly – the main dishes were not good to borderline bad. The paneer karahi and dal were not flavorful at all. The naan GOC was hilariously under salted. The samosa chaat and chicken lasuni starter were both okay.

Honestly, don’t waste your money here. I’m shocked this place has multiple spots in Dublin because it’s not great food wise.

What is fantastic is the service. The people there were fantastic. The main guy that served us was really attentive and had our drinks out so quickly.

The one positive on the food was serving pappad complimentary. The only thing I was happy about.

We were a group of 4. We walked in and the smell was amazing. I thought we had made a great choice for dinner. I couldn’t wait to tuck in to my food. We ordered a bunch of starters and all were tasty, full of flavour. It had me salivating for my main. We ordered 4 different curries and lots of naan and rice. But honestly, we were left very disappointed. The food was lacking flavour. It needed some sort of extra spice. It was the most bland Indian food I’ve tried. To the point I had to add salt. Ultimately, I was very disappointed and won’t be back. The service was good and the decor was very lovely but the food let this restaurant down. I only hope it was a one off given the other reviews for this restaurant

Hadn’t been to Diwali for a number of years but always enjoyed it when I did go there.
I have eaten there twice in the last month & I’m delighted that it still serves wonderful food.
Really enjoyed our food on both occasions & will be back regularly.

We ate here one Sunday before a show in the NCH. The food was mostly good but some dishes could have been better. The vegetable biryani was more spicy than expected and too salty. One of the fish dishes was somewhat lacking in flavour. The service was perfect.

When we were at the restaurant they were having an Elvis night. The Elvis Presley impersonator was loud and we couldn’t really talk much as a result. Some other diners seemed to love it, and may have even been there for the occasion, but it wasn’t for us.

Superb dining at this most consistent of restruaunts. The food is top class and wonderfully varied. What’s more, prices are amazing, especially taking into consideration the quality of ingredients (I swear, I have never tasted such succulent lamb, nor ever before seen such enormous tasty prawns! WOW!).
For price to benefit ratio, this is the best restaurant in Dublin, I must honestly assert.
Staff are unfailingly kind, warm, attentive and welcoming; wine list, including great bargain house-wines by the glass, is marvellous, as well as the apperitif and digestif menus. Dining room is comfortable, airy and inviting; and bathroom facilities immaculate.
Lunch and early-bird menus are superb, but so are the weekend specials, and really and truly, the constantly wonderful Al Á Carte selection also represents superb value for money, as well as a never ending reserve of delightful food.
All in all, Dwalli is recommended without any reservation of any kind.
I repeat: “Cost/Benefit Ratio is the best I know of”!
5 Stars sometimes aren’t enough!

Such a lovely place with great food! I totally agree with the 4.8 google rating. Several dishes with Nepalese touch. We are very happy with all the items we had. Masu ra saag was a favourite.
