What a great place to stop by for lunch with my dad. First and foremost the chips are made fresh, the tortillas are home made, and the salsa at the salsa bar is amazing. Our waitress, there’s only one waiting on all tables, was delightful and making sure every table was serviced well. I had the Mole Veracruz and it was cooked perfectly. The chicken fell off the bone, mole was delicious and rice and beans were great. My dad had the the house plate which came with breaded skirt steak and grilled steak. It was a lot of food but also well cooked and delicious. Will be going again.

I love trying new restaurants, especially ones that have just opened. It’s always important to help new and upcoming businesses. However, with this one you can tell they just opened. The rice was amazing although cold. The tortillas were really good and handmade. The meat was another thing- It tasted good but full of grit and gristle. The salsa bar was not as I expected it be. The staff was more concerned with talking with someone than taking orders and there were no napkins to be found. The table we were sitting at was very wobbly and felt like it would fall over at any wrong movement. All in all I would be willing to try it again later on but as of now I will not being going back. Btw They only take Cash or Cashapp at this time.

Wow! This was our first visit and it was amazing! Service was friendly including a very attentive young man the kept our chips full and our faces smiling! May be the best Carne asada I’ve has since moving from the southwest! Best chips and tortillas I’ve had in a very long time! This will be one of our new regular places for sure!

Editing my review… Are they even open? Of the SEVEN time I’ve tried to go they’ve only been open twice. It’s Friday night. The outdoor string lights are on and the door is locked. What gives?

A welcome addition to North Asheville, I was very impressed by Cantina Muñoz. I ordered the house enchiladas. The handmade tortillas were filled with grilled chicken meat and covered in their decadent mole. For my taste, they have the best mole I’ve tried in the city of Asheville: thick, rich, and complex. It was delicious. I would have taken a picture but it looks so good I ate it before I remembered.

Excellent service and wonderful food! Very fast, but well served. Prices are extremely reasonable/generous portions. They have fried tortilla chips and a beautiful salsa bar. Definitely adding to my list of favourites!

In a word, dissapointing. Just returned from one of the worst dining experiences ever.

6 pm on a Saturday. One couple seated outside, appeared empty at first. Waitress appeared after about a 5 minute wait. Seated immediately. Returned to take drink order, ” bar not open til next week”. Should have been tipped off then.

She then seated 2 other couples. Took their orders before taking ours. Really? After another wait of 5 mins or more, took our orders, part of which h wa guacamole. Drinks came after another wait. 5 more minutes, saw one of the couples get their order.

Then our guacamole arrived. No silverware or chips. When the waitress appeared again, asked for silver and chips, ” he’s making them now”. More waiting, chips appear hot and greasy from the fryer. Still no silver. The other 2 couples now halfway through their meal.

Now a vacuum cleaner starts, and there is a crash from the kitchen area. Now a woman comes thru back entrance with a ladder. ????. Another crash from the kitchen. Vacuum starts again.

It’s now been over a half-hour since ordering. Finally my order comes out. And silver finally! However, partner’s order nowhere to be seen. Man in company shirt stops and asks, ” how’s everything?” I just pointed at the empty space in front of my partner. ” it’s coming right out.” I go to the salsa bar, which is half empty and what is there is half full at best.

5 more minutes. Her Plate arrives, looks like a white log with white sauce. She cuts into it, and the filling oozes out all over the plate. It’s tasted of dirty bean and the chicken was togh, and full of green peppers which she doesn’t like at all and weren’t mentioned on the menu. No prices on menu either. She goes to the salsa bar, which is still half empty, but now has a dirty rag laying on it.

My dish had steak, chicken, sausage and a bowl of bean and bacon soup, which i think were supposed to be beans not soup. It which was the best thing on my plate. The steak was tough and the chicken tougher. The sausage was tasty, but the casing wasn’t fully removed and was like chewing an elastic band. Oh, and did I mention the vacuum running periodically, and more crashes from the kitchen.

They only take cash or cash app. Unfortunately the waitress apparently can’t do simple math, shorted our change by a dollar.

Go half a mile past Reynolds Mountain and theres a GREAT mexican place on the right. GO THERE! Better food and better service!!

We decided to try this restaurant recently… worst decision ever. Service was terrible, we were put in a corner table & forgotten about. We finally got to order & our food came out one hour later, incorrect & inedible. The worst part was checking my bank statement to see that the amount the restaurant charged was a different amount from the finalized bill that I signed for on the receipt. It was only a few dollars but it is unethical to tamper with the finalized bill. I regret trying this restaurant.
