The cafe building was formally the gathering place for the Rexford community. It closed years ago leaving our town without a restaurant. We have licensed our cafe with Mr. Bill McMichaels, owner of the original Whistle Stop Cafe, to bring home-style cooking back to Rexford. The original cafe was featured in the movie ‘Fried Green Tomatoes’, and Mr. McMichael retained the Trademarks and developed a line of batters, seasonings, and cookbooks that we feature in our cafe. The Whistle Stop Café is an outreach of the Shepherd’s Staff Conference Center.

Great serendipitous find (thanks to Google Maps) during our summer vacation. Lovely food and they even whipped up a great vegetarian option that was not even on the menu. Very kind and friendly people. Cozy atmosphere. The railway theme is awesome and there is great history associated with the place.
