Top notch in every respect!
We had lunch there on Christmas Day and enjoyed the specially curated menu prepared for the occasion.
The festive decorations at the Royal Mansour were incredible – complete with a visit from Santa…
We were treated like royalty from the minute we stepped into the hotel. The staff were extremely polite and accommodating. Our request to change something on the menu was managed quickly and efficiently.
This is a true palace – the absolute highlight of our trip! Not to be missed.

A Culinary Masterpiece in a Festive Wonderland

The tasting menu at Sesamo by the 3-Michelin-starred Chef Massimiliano Alajmo is an absolute triumph of Italian fine dining. Alajmo’s signature lightness and precision shine through every dish. It’s a culinary journey characterized by flawless execution and exquisite flavors.

The setting, already one of Marrakech’s most magnificent, was elevated to pure magic by the stunning Christmas display. The Royal Mansour’s festive decorations—opulent, elegant, and perfectly integrated—turned the dining experience into a beautiful, immersive winter fantasy

I am an American traveling through Marrakech and have eaten at hundreds of Italian restaurants across the world. The food at Sesamo is subpar at best. We had 16 different plates and only 2 would we want to eat more. We only ordered the pizza to experience it here in Morocco. The Chef failed at simple dishes such as eggplant parm and ravioli bolognese which tasted like canned Chef Boyardee if you are familiar with it. The chicken Milanese was a fancy fried chicken finger at best. The risotto had no flavor and was very bland. The lobster dish was the highlight along with the pasta with olive oil and red pepper. The tasting menu lets you try many dishes and the chef is trying to do too much. Marrakech has many outstanding restaurants but unfortunately this is not one of them and was our worst meal of our Moroccan trip. I encourage you to find a better Italian restaurant. A few days earlier with ate at “Pepe Nero” near the Medina and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend it over Sesamo. You are paying for the ambience and location….definitely not the food.

We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience in Marrakech. The food was exceptional every dish was delicious, refined, and beautifully presented. It was truly a unique and memorable experience.

A special thank you to Isamel, who was extremely professional, attentive, and kind throughout the evening. His service made our experience even more enjoyable and special.

Highly recommended for anyone visiting Marrakech. Thank you for this unforgettable moment!

Absolutely beautiful restaurant in the oasis of the Royal Mansour hotel. They offer three different Italian menus which are all delicious!! Especially the pizza is incredible. Only thing I didn’t like: it was my husbands birthday and they made me pay 25 euros for a ‚cake‘ as a surprise, which was literally 1/4th of an ice cream scoop with a candle on. See pic attached. The restaurant is very expensive and that I had to pay for this was really unfortunate and left a bit of a weird impression.

For vegetarians it was a very average menu. Nothing spectacular. I would like to add they did best to accommodate our diet and our server was very polite and professional. They even celebrated our Sons birthday.
But the food was average

We visited for afternoon tea, which was very reasonably priced compared to London. The setting in the hotel was excellent, although I would say that well could have had slightly more savoury options and less sweet/cake options. Everything was very nice but there was slightly too much sweet for me. I’d recommend if you are visiting Marrakesh, for the experience of visiting this hotel.

A Truly Exquisite Dining Experience at Sesamo – Royal Mansour Marrakech

Dining at Sesamo was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived, the ambiance wrapped me in quiet luxury — opulent interiors, candlelit tables, and a refined calm that instantly set the tone for what would become a world-class culinary journey.

I selected the Mamma Rita tasting menu, and every single course was a masterpiece — both in presentation and flavor.
• The beef carpaccio was delicate and perfectly balanced with wild arugula and balsamic reduction.
• The eggplant parmigiana was soul-warming, rich, and comforting — exactly what you’d expect from a recipe passed down through generations.
• The spaghetti aglio e olio was deceptively simple yet bold, served with a shot of Virgin Bloody Mary that added a fun modern twist.
• The raviolone alla bolognese was a standout: a single large, silky raviolo filled with slow-cooked meat — indulgent and full of depth.
• The pea risotto was vibrant, creamy, and fresh, topped with shavings of aged Parmesan.
• The chicken Milanese arrived crisp and golden, served with a light mustard foam and fresh greens — the perfect harmony of texture and tang.
• A sparkling lemon sorbet cleansed the palate beautifully before dessert.
• Finally, the Atlas walnut tiramisu was elegant, airy, and the perfect closing note — a nod to both Italian tradition and Moroccan terroir.

The service was graceful and attentive without being overbearing. Every glass was refilled without asking, and the pacing of the meal was flawless.

Paired with a bottle of 2019 Castello di Ama San Lorenzo, the evening turned into something truly memorable — a celebration of Italy in the heart of Marrakech. Even the olive oil (Centonze D.O.P.) stood out, as did the petits fours and welcome aperitifs.

This was more than a dinner — it was a sensory experience where Italian heart meets Moroccan soul in the most elevated way. Bravo to the entire team at Sesamo. This is a must-visit for any culinary lover visiting Marrakech.

Serousily fancy restaurant. Premium service. Atmosphere out of the world. Food was 4/5. Was good but really expensive though. Gold steak was good. Linguini also and pizza and lamb chops. Wouldnt go again. But it was a nice experience.
