My fav Thai restaurant now
It is local owned and I would say the best Thai meal I’ve had in Winnipeg. We were served immediately and the lady was so kind to give out suggestions. The good omg AMAZING the tomyum was so so so good. The milk tea was way too sweet for me. I’ll definitely come back soon

I treated my friend to lunch at Mae Sunee Thai Cuisine at noon. I never expected to taste authentic Thai flavors here in Winnipeg. The three of us ordered seven dishes and surprisingly finished them all. The rice roll, green papaya salad, and fried tofu were light and refreshing, while the beef curry was incredibly tender and smooth. Moreover, the overall cost was reasonable. Newspaper clipping on the wall at reception featured an interview with the owner and her mother. The restaurant has been open for two years now,and the friendly owner hails from Bangkok.

Mae Sunee Thai Cuisine is an absolute gem for authentic Thai cuisine! The presentation from the host was delightful, and our experience was even more special since we visited during a quieter time. Although I’d love to experience the bustling atmosphere here, the peacefulness we encountered was truly overwhelming, with the gentle sounds of the kitchen serving as a soothing backdrop – no excessive noise to disrupt the tranquility.
Having dined in some of the most renowned places in Montreal, I can confidently say that Mae Sunee Thai Cuisine deserves a solid 5-star rating and then some. The seating was incredibly comfortable, and the overall atmosphere exuded charm and elegance.
I’m eagerly anticipating my next visit to savor their delicious dishes once again. Can’t wait!

First time coming here. The restaurant is small and cozy. Everyone was so friendly and made sure everything was good. My cousin and I ordered a few items to share:
Papaya Salad was so fresh and so good. We didn’t add any chilies to this dish as we were getting other ones with spice.
Pork Larb Salad has a nice kick to it with the chili peppers. The sauce and veggies balanced everything out.
Pineapple Red Curry with Mussels – the broth was so flavorful and the chunks of pineapple added a touch of sweetness. The mussels were very small, but there were still quite a bit in there.
Red Curry with Beef – Broth was very flavorful with a little kick, lots of veggies and beef. I would probably add a little bit more spice next time to kick it up for me. I like my sauces thicker, this one was thinner – more like a soup but I didn’t mind that at all.
Portion sizes were good. We had some leftovers to take home.

This restaurant was an instant hit with me the moment I walked through the door! The place is very charming with lots of live plants everywhere, cute ethnic decor and freshly painted walls. The food was SO GOOD!! Delicious!! Some of the best food I’ve tried in Canada or Thailand. We had crispy tofu, papaya salad, chicken stirfy thing and I asked for a vegetarian version of red pineapple curry. The menu doesn’t list many vegetarian dishes, but I know that Thai food can be just as delicious with tofu subbed for meat, so I asked and was kindly accommodated. I enjoyed my curry very much! Thank you! We will definitely be back soon. 🙂

This is a local business you want to support. Went there on Sunday for weekend dinner, we called in advance and asked about the mango sweet rice. The owner was very honest that they weren’t able to find quality ingredient at the season but still were able to serve sweet rice with other flavors if we step in. The dinning environment is really nice as all tables were clean and the plants were so lively and well taken care. We ordered noodle soup, crispy shrimps, fried pork and of course the sweet rice but with banana! The dishes were well seasoned and properly cooked. The owner was really friendly and shared how she started the business and how the family work together to make great food.

First time eating at this restaurant. Street parking only – enough space on this one way street. The restaurant is on the smaller size – nice atmosphere and decor. We started with the Tom Kha Gai soup – the flavours were excellent. The size of the soup was smaller than we expected – one large serving or smaller bowls if you were sharing it. The chicken skewers were perfectly cooked and had a very nice peanut dipping sauce. The Pad See Ew was a nice noodle dish with chicken and broccolini’s. Some of the prices were more than what we have paid at other Thai restaurants with the same size of dish – this was the only drawback to this meal. Delicious food at this restaurant. The server was friendly and attentive.

Absolutely delicious! Very friendly service and such gorgeous food. We had the wonton soup (such tasty broth! Tons of fresh veggies), deep fried tofu with sweet and sour sauce and peanuts (oh my god, so good) and the best fresh rolls I have ever had. The other night we got pad thai and coconut rice to take out. Amazing. The online ordering was very easy and fast. We will be back whenever we are in Winnipeg!

Take out order.
Overall this is the taste of the authentic Thai food. Very close to that you will find in most tourist places in Bangkok, Pattaya, koh Phuket, koh Samui, or any other popular destination.
Tom-Yam-Gung – very good. Strong and intensive. Missing yellow onion, but I understand that not so many Westerner would be happy to see it in the soup.
Tom-Kha-Kai – good but a bit sweety to my taste.
Pad-Thai – very good. I would call it the best PadThai in the city.
Som-Tam salad (papaya salad). 100% taste of Thailand. Nostalgia maker.
Fried Rice – not the strongest side of this place, but okay. I would suggest to add some veggies and heat a wok more to get this flame touches and avoid a soggines.
Anyway this is very well made and tasty food. Despite of the distance factor the chief keep the original taste. For me it’s the 5 of 5.

Ordered the veggie gluten free pad Thai. It was simply delicious. Stepping into this restaurant felt as if the owners welcomed me into their home. The service was great and the ingredients were fresh and flavourful. Will definitely be dining here anytime I am in Winnipeg!!
