We were staying in Timnath for the night and decided to take a friend’s recommendation on Betta Gumbo – they certainly did not disappoint. Gill (with a G) was absolutely amazing! She was attentive and provided phenomenal customer service; her drink and modified food recommendations were on point (Thank you).
Green , Boozy Blueberry Moonshine, Bettamama, The Sampler and the Louisiana Catfish were deliciousoso. A must visit if you’re in the little town of Windsor. Definitely coming back.

I called in an order and it was ready for me to pick up within 10 minutes. I ordered the catfish creole, and I have to say it is one of the most amazing and delicious foods I have had in a very very long time. I can’t wait to eat there again and would highly recommend.

I’ll be honest, reviews have always meant a great deal in making my decision when trying new restaurants. Especially for specific cuisines in small towns. But after trying Betta this afternoon I will always formulate my own opinion, unless all bad reviews pop up in the current period in which I review.

In addition to the items I can select for this review, we had the gumbo, their seafood gumbo, and the collard greens. Everything we had was very flavorful, but not over salted. The dipping sauce for the hush puppies was so delicious. The cornbread was perfectly sweetened and the gumbo was so well spiced for my taste buds it was exactly how I like it. We ordered for takeout and the home is 15 minutes away. The Toast order process said it would be ready in 15 minutes. Immediately when we arrived, the order was ready so when we got home it was still nice and warm. My only complaint would be we did not receive the side of grits. I did contact the store and spoke with Vanessa. She was so helpful and a delight to speak with. I totally believe this minor issue will be resolved.

Overall I’d give the restaurant a 5+ if I could

Chef Eric and the house manager did an amazing job hosting my Dad’s Surprise 80th birthday party on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant had the perfect party atmosphere with clean, new and colorful atmosphere. Chef worked with me to create a tasty menu/buffet for guests within our budget and everyone loved their drink options too. All the guests were super impressed with how tasty the food was and had a GREAT time. My Dad had a super memorable birthday and was so surprised! If you haven’t checked out this local gem, give it a try and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed as they have a great variety of options and the staff were all very friendly and provided fantastic service!

The atmosphere is great, our waitress Sadie was fun, and the drinks were really good. Unfortunately, the food just wasn’t the best. The hush puppies were burnt and dry, the crab cakes were very dry and the blackened catfish had zero flavor. I don’t think any one of us finished our meal. I definitely had higher hopes for the food, but we might come back for music and a drink.

I love Cajun music, culture, people and almost everything Cajun- just not wild about the food (or to be precise, Cajun food prepared in restaurants far from Cajun country). But I love supporting diversity of food in Windsor so gave it a shot for lunch on a Friday. I ordered the blackened catfish and all my doubts were justified when the efficient and friendly server delivered my plate. The large catfish looked great on my plate but when it literally took a knife to cut through the rubbery, ill-cooked mass I knew I was in trouble.

Waitress to the rescue! Our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout our visit by the way and was quick to whisk my plate back to the kitchen. 10 minutes later I had an almost perfectly cooked catfish in front of me.

Between my wife and I we had a variety of familiar and unfamiliar sides which we enjoyed. I had no idea what to expect from the lavender coleslaw but I couldn’t taste any lavender. I didn’t try my wife’s deep fried shrimp because it had a lot of breading and a bit of an oily sheen to it. Makes me wonder whether the cook was having an off day.

So service was great as was cleanliness and overall setting as was most of the food after some rework. We didn’t have drinks but the drinks menu was enticing and I expect will give the restaurant another go to further explore the food and drinks menus before passing final judgement. Dithered on what star rating to leave but the great service swung it to a 4.
