The sushi and kurricanes taste just like eating sushi in Cabo, the real deal. Everything felt authentic and full of flavor. I especially loved the ponzu on the kurricanes, it added the perfect kick, and all the seafood was incredibly fresh.
If you’re into Mexican-style sushi, this is definitely your place. The service is friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. The only small downside is that the music can be a little loud if you’re trying to eat and have a long chat; but overall, it’s absolutely worth it.

We ordered the Cat City Special appetizer, the Alberto Roll, the Horacio Roll. Everything was delicious and had nice portions in their rolls. I would recommend to give this place a try especially if you’re looking for a different twist on sushi or if you just like sushi in general.

Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing (Firecracker shrimp). It consisted of two very slim pieces of shrimp, one stuck at each end of a 7-inch long maki “log”. The rest of it was practically all rice and mashed avocado, disguised with some decorative dripped sauce.
The insistent, loud Mexican music was a turnoff. Is there no way to escape this in California?

This tiger roll was expensive and was underwhelming for $20. It was a smaller sized tiger roll that didn’t come with tempura. The roll tasted fresh but was very basic and costs too much. I can buy two rolls for the same price and better quality since it comes with tempura at another restaurant.

August 11th, When we first arrived we asked to sit at a table that had dirty cups on it, I asked if we could sit there, a girl came to pick up the cups, she didn’t wipe down the table, we waited thinking she was bringing a towel to wipe it down, instead she went and started a conversation with the sushi cooks , until my husband went over to ask for the menus we never received, and asked if the table could be wiped down. We ordered our daughters food and a Chabela, our daughters food came out, but the chabela never made it to the table, she asked if we wanted refills on our water, and I asked her how much longer for the chabela, I knew she had forgot about it, since she asked me what beer we had ordered, mind you the restaurant was not busy at all, later we get our order which was a Alexia roll, a very small portion roll than what we are used to, my husband ordered a shrimp and octopus cocktail, he did not received that, she brought him the cocktail that also had scallops, which he doesn’t like. Horrible experience at this location. Hire better servers, that are more attentive and pay attention to the consumer.

We order a Philadelphia roll, for the price I was expecting more meat, the pieces are a good size with 80% of rice and almost nothing of salmon

gentle glow, friendly staff, great options. And friendly locals as I suspected. Looking forward to trying the Cat City and visiting their other location. Ramen is good too!
