The absolute grossest seafood I’ve eaten. First of all, this place looks like half is abandoned, and the other half is struggling to be a store with items like laundry detergent, seafood boils, fry mixes, and rebranded seasoning that appear to be similar to the ones sold at the Dekalb Farmer’s Market. There’s fresh seafood out with barely enough ice to cover it. I ordered 1 piece of catfish with shrimp and fried pickles. The fish was soft and unseasoned. The shrimp tasted weird like freezer burn, and the fried pickles were heavily salty. Needless to say, I trashed this meal. Wasted money. I left this place and went to Atlanta Seafood Market and had a better experience. Save your money and time.

This place has outstanding customer service and amazing food. I’ve both dined in and got food to go, and both times the staff was so kind and the food was absolutely delicious! I was welcomed as soon as I walked in, and the person who took my order answered any question that I had (and even let me try some of their new clam chowder!) My to go food was given with a smile, and as I was leaving, everyone wished me a great day. They even wrote a cute note on the to go box! Couldn’t ask for better customer service. Highly recommend their shrimp boils! Definitely my new favorite spot to eat!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Grouper and Snapper tasted great my only minor complaint is that 2 meals for $63 is kinda HIGH other than that everything was great!

Delicious seafood! We had a 1/2 dozen Blue Point oysters on the half shell to share (they were huge and delicious!) and we both had the fish basket (flounder, French fries, hushpuppies & cole slaw) and both of us agreed it was fantastic. Good price – $17.99 for the oysters and $12.99 for the fish basket. Great service, too. We will be back!

Gainesville Seafood Market is an absolute gem! The octopus salad was the best I’ve ever had—perfectly tender and bursting with fresh flavors. The country boil was packed with perfectly seasoned seafood, and the oysters were divine—fresh, briny, and absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere made for a great dining experience. If you’re a seafood lover, this place is a must-visit! Highly recommend

I have driven by the Gainesville Seafood Market many of times when driving on Atlanta Highway, but never had the chance to try their food until recently. I came in on a rainy late morning and was surprised with the market/restaurant set up with numerous types of fish, shrimp and other seafood being showcased for sale. As I was looking at the menu and deciding what to order, one of the employees offered me a small plastic cup of their clam chowder to sample. The soup was warm and delicious without it being overly creamy. I thanked the man and ended ordering a fried grouper sandwich meal to-go. The sandwich came along with French fries that were fresh and seasoned well. As for the Grouper, it was quite savory and along with the Remoulade sauce on the side made for a tasty experience. Overall a good first impression for the eatery. Looking forward to try what else they offer in the future.

Don’t miss – sublime seafood! From the outside it seems like any seafood market but tucked away in the back is the counter to order and a few tables. They were handing out small taster cups of NE clam chowder and lobster bisque – very good and not your typical thick soups. The enticement worked and we ordered a bowl of lobster bisque which had nice chunks of lobster. The mussels in garlic butter was so good that it had all of us fighting for the mussels and the bread to dip it in! Large tasty shucked oysters which included several fresh lemon slices, cocktail sauce and horseradish sauce. The medium sized scallops and large portion of grilled salmon were perfectly cooked. Solid grouper tacos. The large portion of fried flounder was bland but that might be more the flounder’s fault – and at our request they switched out the French fries for red potatoes. Hush puppies were very good if you’re into them.
A few weeks later we returned and placed an order to go. We loved the mussels in garlic butter and scallops so much we ordered it again. This time we ordered a bowl of NE clam chowder and grilled grouper. We again were very full and happy.

This quaint little place is a gem! The workers are always friendly and the food is delicious! I tried the crab legs. They were very messy to eat because of the boil bag, but the flavor was great! My husband loves their clam chowder soup.
