My personal recommendations are the buff sukuti, buff chowmein, buff momo, and buff choila—each dish was full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The food was so good that I even ordered some to-go for our road trip!
Overall, it was truly the best experience. Highly recommend to anyone craving authentic Nepali flavors!
The ambience is warm and welcoming, making you genuinely feel like you’re enjoying a meal back in Nepal. On top of that, the service was attentive, polite, and professional, which made the experience even better.
Overall, a very satisfying meal with great food, great service, and a genuine Nepali touch. Can’t wait to come back here again and again . Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Nepali cuisine.
The vegetable momos are fresh and flavorful, and both the vegetable fried rice and vegetable chow mein are well-seasoned and satisfying—honestly even better than some of the Nepalese restaurants I’ve tried in Nepal. The Mustang aloo is somewhat like American-style potatoes but not deep-fried; instead, it’s well-seasoned and very close to the flavor I remember from Nepal. While it’s not made with actual Mustang potatoes, it’s still rare and wonderful to find such a similar taste here.
The chili paneer has a great texture and pairs perfectly with rice. The eggplant curry is also excellent—rich, comforting, and very much a “go-with-rice” dish. What I really appreciate is that each dish has its own distinct flavor profile; they’re not all based on the same sauce, which is something impressive.
The service is consistently warm and attentive, reflecting the quality of the food. It’s uncommon to find a truly authentic Nepalese restaurant in the area that delivers both genuine flavors and great service. Royal Dunbar Kitchen is definitely worth recommending.
The food is very masterfully prepared starting from the appetizer. The Chatpate (Fried marinated buff pieces with flattened crispy rice) are wonderful especially when they are warm. Mix the other things with the plain flat rice makes it surprisingly good. The Lentil pancakes are very enjoyable with very thing crispy bottom, but tender body. The sauce that comes with them is so flavorful, so freshly special that I finished it all alone. The Momos (Nepalese dumpling) are very good with thick skin – nice to the bite – and delicious filling. I choose the version with sauce, but I am sure steamed version or pan fried version should be equally good.
Great restaurant environment, very warm service!
The kulfi was the most magnificent dessert with the perfect creamy but dense texture.
We sat at a two-person table next to the statue and the table and chairs were awkwardly sized so it felt like the table was a little too high for our seats. Other than that, I would definitely come back!
If you’re looking for an authentic dining experience that lives up to its name, Royal Durbar Kitchen is the place to be. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance sets the stage for a truly special meal—elegant, warm, and inviting.
The Food:
The flavors are incredible. We tried the chicken choila, Buff momo, bandel sandheko, and it was seasoned to perfection. You can tell they use high-quality spices and fresh ingredients. Every bite felt like a tribute to traditional recipes.
The Service:
The staff was attentive without being overbearing. They were happy to provide recommendations and made sure our water glasses were never empty. It’s rare to find a place that balances high-end service with such a welcoming vibe
We absolutely loved the buff momos/ Jhol and
Sukuti —so juicy and full of flavor.
Even The GOAT THALI.
Every bite was enjoyable, and the experience was wonderful from start to finish.
Thank you so much, Royal Durbar!
We had Chicken Thukpa, Bhutan, Momo – chicken and Buff, Chicken Curry, Chowmeing, bara and Yomari. Authentic Nepali taste. Yomari was the only item we did not feel like was authentic taste otherwise everything else was good. I went back again the next day.
Loved this place and will visit again.
