A friend of mine recommended that we try this restaurant. I was not disappointed by his recommendation. The place is very big and the food is very good.
The free chips in salsa was a great start. The salsa is a tad spicy, and the chips have more than just a salt flavor, both of which I enjoyed immensely. The horchata I ordered was also fantastic.
I had the Chipotle Chicken and Shrimp which was very, very good. The samples I had from my friends’ dishes were good as well.
Two of my friends had margaritas and they said they were excellent. I can’t comment on that, as I didn’t have one, though they looked really very fancy.
Overall, I really enjoyed my time here and will be coming back in the future. I would highly recommend Mi Cancún of Durham.

Always an awesome experience at Mi Cancún/Mil Amores. Waitstaff is very attentive and kind, and the food is speedy, warm, and delicious. Love coming here! They also mentioned a special deal for university students on Thursdays—super affordable and seems fun. College students should come!

I had an incredible dining experience at Mi Cancun in Durham! I ordered the Molcajete Cancun Style, and it did not disappoint. The carnitas, steak, and chicken were all unbelievably juicy and tender—each bite was packed with flavor and perfectly grilled.
The ranchero salsa that came with the dish was absolutely delicious—rich, smoky, and with just the right amount of kick to complement the meats. It tied everything together beautifully.
The servers anad management were friendly, attentive, and fast, without feeling rushed. And let me tell you, the drinks were nice and strong, exactly what you want from a good Mexican restaurant.
This my new go to for authentic mexican food!

This establishment, formerly known as El Rodeo, seems to be undergoing a rebranding effort, presumably aimed at attracting a renewed clientele. Although not explicitly listed on the current menu, it’s worth noting that pitcher service for alcoholic beverages remains available upon request.

Was at the restaurant on 9/1/25 at 12:35 pm the manager went to every table and talked to each guest which was either Latino or white and paused at our table and walked away. We were the only people of color in there and it was 2 of us at the table. The food was disappointing and we will not return. Black dollars do matter. Then the manager came over to our table to apologize after the waitress brought it to our attention after we said something. The managers excuse for not saying something earlier was because he did not speak good English but that is no excuse. The manger did apologize and gave us free cheesecake.

I had an amazing experience at Mi Cancun! The food was absolutely delicious—authentic, fresh, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it a perfect place to enjoy a great meal. A special shoutout to our server, Gustavo, who provided outstanding service! My husband myself and a friend went to dinner at the old El Rodeo to be surprised it had changed names. I have to admit we were a bit nervous about what we would get but I have to say we were all pleasantly surprised. Service was perfect and our server Dani was very attentive. The chips were seasoned and so good. This has to be the first time we have ever had a manager walk around to check on us at this location to make sure everything was going good or to see if we needed anything. The margaritas we had were on point and very well made. The food was amazing and seasoned very well. The atmosphere was perfect as well as the lighting. I’m Cancun has a patio outside for dining complete with heaters and tiki torches. We will be back for dinner again as everything and everyone were all so nice from entry to when we left. We were so busy eating we didn’t get a picture of the food.
