OMG I didn’t think I could love JMT more than I did when they had a location in Fredericksburg, but somehow the RVA location was EVEN BETTER!!!
Walking in you could just feel the positive energy of the place, and everyone already seated was smiling, enjoying the food, and just generally very cheery. We were greeted as soon as our feet hit the floor by Moe — a tall, imposing man whose kindness & courtesy is only matched by his stature — and we were seated right away (lucky us, too, they got BUSY within 5 mins of our arrival).
I ordered the California Burrito (w/ carne asada), my wife ordered the burrito bowl w/ chicken, and our 21yo daughter ordered a burrito w/ chicken and a Pornstar Martini. We also ate some plaintains and street corn fritters — BOTH of these apps are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
The food was OUTSTANDING.
The portions were HUGE — none of us could finish our meal.
The staff (Moe, and owner Maria) were attentive and gracious.
The atmosphere was great — noisy enough you can’t hear people chewing (I have misophonia), but quiet enough you can carry on a conversation without having to yell across your table.
️ We even conversed with the lovely humans at the tables next to us.
Oh, the Pornstar Martini — if you’re of legal age and have a designated driver with you, you simply MUST ORDER ONE OF THESE!!!!! It’s one of the most delicious, not-too-sweet, cocktails I’ve had the pleasure of trying in RVA and our daughter put it as her new #1 cocktail (granted, she just turned 21 a week ago as of this writing, haha).
All-in-all, we can’t recommend Juan More Taco – RVA enough!

so so good as a vegetarian I’d rather never go anywhere else for Mexican. I got a passionfruit margarita the queso and chips and the crunch wrap with vegan meat. I enjoyed everything and all around me people were telling the waiter how much they loved their food so it definitely wasn’t just me who loved their food.

You cannot go wrong with this place! Every single bite I’ve had here (and I’m close having tried every veg option on the menu) is so satisfying and absolute perfection! Everyone I’ve talked to about it says the same thing about JMT: there is so much love in their food. This is not your average taco spot, it’s really special with traditional Honduran recipes and fun takes on modern favorites.
The vegan asada Crunchwrap is an easy choice. Everything they put out is a balance of fresh and smoky and good-chewy and so much flavor. It is paired with a salsa verde with just the perfect amount of spicy Serrano flavor. It’s the best sauce I’ve ever had in my life. Dip trio is great and also their seasonal veggies is the best preparation of summer squash I’ve had. I’m also so excited brunch is back because they knock it out of the park every single time! Definitely try their Agua Frescas too.
The building is really cool, great decorations and always spotless. Staff is the best in town. We seriously love them!
ETA: got brunch and it’s amazing! They have FROM SCRATCH vegan conchas. What a dream come true.

Dear Vegans, I found you the best bite of food in Richmond: the vegan Al pastor nachos at Juan More Taco! I cannot believe the depth of flavor in the dish and the quality of the mushrooms every single time. It is out of this world, especially with the vegan queso. The burrito bowl with vegan asada is so fresh, savory, and has that perfect meaty chew. Another all time favorite is the Summer corn cakes- expertly balanced with a delicate sweetness. The specials on Tuesdays are so affordable and portions are always generous.
I’m so grateful that talented chefs like Maria share their traditional flavors with vegan proteins so that everyone can experience and enjoy them. Definitely get a drink from Mo at the bar, the Nojito will heal you on a hot day! José is a wonderful server- fast, personable, kind.

Juan more taco had really good drinks, a nice atmosphere, and the food was good. The server was very nice, but I felt like he had too many tables, and the food took a wild come out. We went on a Tuesday, where they have a list of entrées that are half off, so we expected our bill to be much lower than it was. I will say the food was very good, the chips were some of the best chips I think I have ever had, they had a smoky salt on them that paired so nicely with salsa and queso. I got the loaded nachos and they were very generous in proportion and smothered with queso. I would definitely go back, but be sure to go when you aren’t in a rush.

Went here early on a summer Saturday night because every day here is happy hour! Ordered the two house margs and they were DELICIOUS wow! We also got the chips and salsa which was sweet, but had a slow burn that we enjoyed. We also got the carne asada tacos trio and chicken burrito. Let me just tell you the portions are BIG and so is the flavor! We loved our server, he was incredibly kind and attentive. He also provided recommendations and spoke highly of what the kitchen makes in house. Overall, our experience was fantastic and we will definitely recommend it to all our friends!!

When traveling, I love to find restaurants not part of the big franchises—those local restaurants nestled in a city’s different communities. I was visiting my niece and nephew, and they found the perfect spot while I was visiting Richmond. Juan More Taco did not disappoint my expectations. It was a great experience. The food and service were terrific, and the prices were reasonable. There were so many options to try, along with vegetarian selections. Features like homemade limeade, salsas, and corn tortillas were made fresh. The highlight of my experience was when the owner came out to sit down and talk with us and tell us the origin of the restaurant idea and how it all started. She was such a delight. I look forward to visiting again when I return to Richmond.

Amazing food. Great experience. Had the crunch wrap I saw on TikTok. Ohhhh-mazing small crew, great decor, had wonderful conversation w ‘Maria’ She made the order. Crunch wrap was chilled and crunchy on the lettuce side, light amount of sour creme. The. The crunch layer. And a heat hot and just seasoned perfectly carne asada (beef) side. And to top off the drink I had was great. mojito was sour and spritzy full of light fresh lime flavor. Even the sprite I ordered was on par w the infamous McDonald’s Sprite

Great for catering events, too! We love Juan More Taco’s food (it’s way more than just another taco place) so turned to Maria and her team to cater my wife’s birthday party, with OUTSTANDING results! Our 25 guests raved about the food, and all the arrangements were handled flawlessly. Yes, it’s a great spot for dine-in food and beverages (don’t miss Taco Tuesday), but you should definitely consider JMT for your catering needs, too.
