Ordered a takeout of our favorite, BBQ Pork chow mein and Ginger Beef. Found the chow mein too salty and the beef too dry, making our dinner just ok. We found it strange that we were told it was a 40 minute wait, however 30 minutes later, we got a phone call telling us they are just starting to cook it. Guess they do that to let you have a chance to add to your order or to cancel out altogether. You get the dedicated time of the kitchen when you get a call. Next time, we will have to ask them to hold the salt. Not too greasy which is good. Also they charge 25 cents for a bag without asking if you want it or not.

Food: 3/5 – the breaded chicken almond was average, not greasy. The chicken chow mein had few veggies and lacked taste. The butterfly shrimp was average. Lacking authentic Asian food.
Service: 3/5 – slooow getting your food. If you’re not in a hurry to eat, and you have patience, then it’s okay to come here.
Atmosphere: 3/5 – clean

We ordered our New Year’s Eve dinner online around noon to be picked up at 5:30. We arrived at 5:30 and were told our order was cancelled because it was too busy (one table was occupied by the way). We could order at 5:30 to pick up our meal at 8:30 but that doesn’t help when we were having dinner at 5:30.
Nothing is open on New Years Eve. Meaning we didn’t have anything to eat for dinner. Our special evening was ruined by this experience. We fed our guests toast.
I understand why this happened but it shouldn’t have happened. At the very least, we should have been notified.
Taught us an important lesson about relying on others. It’s no wonder reviews are so low. Your customer service lacks any service!!!!

Breaded Almond Chicken was so tough I could not cut it with a fork. I tried to separate it with a fork and a spoon and I ended up shooting half my dinner off my plate. The sweet-and-sour pork was overcooked and tough. It would’ve been easier chewing shoe leather.

We have been enjoying the dishes at Ocean Palace since 2002. We absolutely love the Diced Beef with Black Pepper Sizzling Chow Mein (all of the chow meins are good), the Prawns in Spicy Salt, their Sliced Beef with Chinese Broccoli, and the House Deluxe Vegetables. They are SO good.

One strange thing was that I ordered a noodle dish ahead of time and about half and hour before pick up, I was told they only had 2/3 of a portion left and I was asked if I still wanted the dish. I stumbled a little bit before asking what I would be charged and was told that it would cost 2/3 of the full price. I kept the order and it seemed fine…I’ve just never experienced this before.
Buddha’s feast was good, rice noodles and beef were tasty.

Don’t go here an hour before they close to dine in. When you ask for a table the first thing said “is we close at 9” it was 8:10 when we came in. Told him to forget it and left. Looking at the reviews for the last couple of years the business is really going down hill.

Ocean Palace has been my go-to place to eat Chinese food for years. Having local business owners run the place has ensured that they maintained the trust they have with customers. If you are conscious about MSG, just know that you can ask for no MSG with your whole order!
Be sure to order when they open (~5pm) so that you don’t have to worry about a potential 1-2hr wait time for take-out or delivery late at night! The long wait goes to show that the food here is made authentically and tastes great!
It’s also great to know that they make their spring-rolls in house!
