Very clean, fresh food that is extremely tasty and feels like it was made with love. Gives me ‘home made’ like my grandmas food in the best way possible.
A little taste of heaven here in white plains.
– –> The food is very MEDIocre. Nothing special. Koobideh comes with only one piece of meat. Most of the places with this concept serves two. Fillet minon Kebap was medium rare. It was difficult to chew. In short, the food is not going to make you surprised. If you haven’t eaten any mediterranean food in your life, you could be okay. The restroom is outside, so you need to leave the dining room and wait in the hall if there is someone inside.
The bread for the table is warm pita served with a creamy tangy yogurt dip and a spicy herby yummy sauce made with jalapenos, herbs, walnuts etc. It’s hard to stop yourself from eating! For appetizers, we ordered the grilled shrimp, which were juicy, perfectly cooked, and delicately spiced and served with a super good jalapeno feta cream . We also got the kashk badenjoon, which was a warm eggplant dip topped with crispy onions and cream of whey, and it was smokey and delicious. We also got the marinated pickles that we had as a side with our mains. They’re some of the best pickles I’ve ever had, and the cauliflower in it is my favorite.
For our mains, we ordered the Chicken Koobideh Kabob to share, and we replaced the saffron basmati rice that the dish came with Shirin, which has candied orange zest, barberry, pistachio, and almonds. The Chicken Koobideh Kabob is flavored with saffron, super juicy, smokey, and charry, and so good! Mom said it’s the best chicken she has had in a while, and after the first bite asked when we can go back cuz she definitely wants it again . We were stuffed by this time but decided to sneak a peek at the dessert menu, and mom wanted to try the ice cream, which had saffron, pistachios, and rosewater. We asked the server if it was possible to get just a single scoop, and they happily obliged, and it was so good, and the perfect quantity we were looking for! We left as two very happy and very full diners.
