Good BBQ joint! Had an outside BBQ smoker, live TVs and an open-aired dining area, though sometimes gets windy. They serve very fine pulled-pork sandwiches, and their BBQ sauce has a kick! Good place to enjoy BBQ!

Read this before reading the ridiculous low-star reviews!

I’m a coast-to-coast solo traveler with a penchant for classic American BBQ. With that said, I have favorite places all over the country, most of which are small-town backroad BBQ joints in the exact areas you’d expect: Kansas City, St. Louis, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, and the Carolinas. So naturally, I never expected to stumble upon a place like Back Alley BBQ in Chandler, Arizona of all places.

Alas, here we are.

I’m picky about BBQ. It’s common for me to like one of the meats at a shop, sometimes two, but not all of them. Hear my words, EVERY DAMN ONE (of the four-meat combo I had) at Back Alley is delicious! Brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and the sausage…. ALL amazing.

And the price? $29 for a four-meat combo platter is WILD. Not just for the area, but for the amount of food, and the quality. I’m impressed all-around.

The sauces?! Only three, but that’s all you need! It’s a perfect mix with a spicy red BBQ, a classic original sweet/slight spice BBQ, and the star of the show, the Carolina-style Gold BBQ! I’m going to be making special trips back because I’ll be dreaming of the Gold sauce alone.

We also had the Brisket Mac-N-Cheese Bowl, Peach Hot-Honey Cheesecake, and Rice Krispy Treat. Each of them did not disappoint! Flavor/texture of the cheesecake is perfection! I’m also a sucker for an easy to-go dessert too so the Rice Krispy treat was perfectly fit for that.

The owner stopped by several times to talk and ask our thoughts about everything. He’s a gem of a human and you can tell he genuinely cares about the opinions of his patrons. Don’t be afraid to ask to speak to him or give him your own thoughts. He’s an open human and happy to listen! Don’t come here and complain, give the man a chance to make it right or possibly change your mind!

In all seriousness, give this place a try for yourself. I almost didn’t stop because I tend to be disappointed by BBQ out West, and man, I would’ve been missing out! Try it, talk to the owner, enjoy the atmosphere, and have some good damn BBQ in the American Southwest!

Back Alley BBQ was nothing short of amazing – the food, cocktails, and service were all incredible. I’m so stoked they’re just down the street!

I ordered the 4 meat combo pulled pork, brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, ribs, coleslaw, potato salad, ranch beans, and two cocktails: the banana-pudding espresso martini and the Boston Street Punch. Everything was delicious – the meats were tender and smoky, the sides were fresh and well-seasoned, and the cocktails were tasty and perfectly balanced.

Standout: the jalapeño cheddar sausage – seriously fire. Friendly, attentive service and a relaxed vibe made this a fantastic meal. Don’t sleep on this spot – highly recommended.

Also I have celiac and they offered to change their gloves and cleaned their station without me having to ask! So awesome it’s gluten friendly!

THE BEST BBQ EVER!! now I’m not an expert on barbecue but when I tell you when I put that shredded pork & mac and cheese into my mouth I went to heaven. everything is definitely worth a try. me and my family got a shareable and we went back for seconds.

service was amazing in the atmosphere with super cozy. definitely recommended this to friends and family and we will be coming back

This BBQ joint can take my money any day! Chef Ken brings his knowledge and years of experience as a Pit Master to Back Alley BBQ, to provide you with delicious smoked meats and mouth watering sides that leave you wanting more! The bar is awesome and quick with handmade cocktails and ice cold beer! They have an amazing staff that is super friendly and helpful. Live music on most weekends and they’re always amazing musicians. The inside is completely redone and boasts a clean welcoming environment! Back Alley BBQ is sure to be a new favorite spot !

I was craving some BBQ, good music, and a great atmosphere, and this place did not disappoint! The food was perfect. You’ve got to try the fried pickles, and the smoked wings with their sauces are so good.

They also had live music with singers who were amazing. We really enjoyed the vibe the entire time we were there. The manager even stopped by to greet us, which was a really nice touch.

Our server, Milee, was AMAZING—so sweet and attentive. Even with a full dining room, she made sure we were well taken care of and the wait time was still fast. The whole staff was outstanding.

We will definitely be back! If you’re in the area, you’ve got to try this place—it’s well worth it.

During a recent visit to the area, my boyfriend and I had a craving for barbecue. We had heard about the establishment through Adrian, one of the chefs, and decided to give it a try. We ordered the brisket and pork sandwiches, along with a selection of sides and wings. The food arrived promptly and was very flavorful.

The restaurant offers a variety of sauces, including Spicy, Original, and Golden, each of which was delicious. Not only was the food amazing, but the atmosphere was also remarkably clean and welcoming.

Adrian, the chef, was exceptionally friendly and approached us to inquire about the quality of the food and engage in a brief conversation.

We are excited to come back to try more food!
