Speaking for the restaurant side. The pulled chicken o got was so dry I wasn’t even going to attempt to it. The pulled pork was cold. The bread they give you for the sandwiches are a single piece of Texas toast cut in half. For another piece it’s 1$. The 2 BBQ sauce choices are horrible. I could ramble on about other miniscule things but I believe I have written enough.

We had Father’s Day for Jim Syra at Whiskey River BBQ today a great place all you can eat fish that was really good my brother’s just ate two or three Plates Full I’ll definitely get that next time waitress she was great she was running her ass off everywhere Subway under $50 tip today it turned out to be a great day I’ll send Joshua pay for the trip my brother’s got to see Dad Dad got to see us grandkids got to see each other and everyone great food at a great time

My husband and I went here with our four small children. The waitress seemed happy to serve us. She was very kind and knew the menu well.
We ordered 3 kids meals for the the kids that would be eating (the youngest is still eating milk) and we both got the all you can eat walleye. The kids meals had so much food they could have split one meal. The pulled pork was outstanding!! The walleye was amazing. We also got Cole slaw, steak fries, baked potatoes and onion rings. The baked potatoes weren’t great but literally everything else was so good! We’ve lived in Waverly for a couple years now and we’re wondering now why we’ve never gone here before. It was so so good! Service was excellent too! We’ll definitely be back.

The service was wonderful. We were taken care of quickly and our food came out fast. There are three choices for barbecue sauces and we mixed all of them together. The shredded pork in the Moo Oink dish was moist and tasty. The beef brisket was a little dry but still enjoyed it. The French union sooo which was a side was full of flavor. They have generous portions of food. Its definitely not the best I’ve ever had, but wasn’t bad for a quick bite. There are signs on the doors and when you walk in stating there is a 4% up charge for using a credit card, so don’t be surprised. The decor is dated and the place seemed to have a lot of locals dining there.

Great place for fried walleye and appetizers. And, a great place to have a cold beer after a long day at work or working around the house. The walleye was all you can eat and I shouldn’t have gone back for more. They do not cheat you on the portions and it was more than I should’ve eaten. Left there plenty full, and ready for bed. Next time I’m trying the prime rib.

Very nice waitress. Excellent food. Had the pulled pork. Sandwich wasn’t huge but the pork was very good. Requested fries done crispy and they obliged. Only negative is that they don’t have a hot BBQ sauce (the waitress said the owner has been developing one), but the ones they have are good and made in-house; one a smokey whiskey sauce and the other a standard sweet sauce.

I don’t know what the positive reviews are talking about. Maybe family of the owner? This was by far the worst meal I ever had. There is no other way of saying it. The meats were all dry and tasted the same. Chicken tenders driest smallest things u have seen. And on top of that they positioned us right out side the men’s restroom with no door. The odor of urine didn’t go well with the dry meat. Me and my friends will always joke about this place as the bottom in culinary arts and any meal we have from here on out we can always say at least it isn’t whiskey river. A new low

I’ve came by here many times wondering if Whiskey River was open or closed. Let me guarantee you they are definitely open and according to Stephanie, our waitress, an employee of 15 years, it’s open all but three days a year. Their chef has also been here over 20 years. I had the endless walleye with sides of steak fries and green beans. Stephanie recommend the Texas ketchup. I am so glad she did bc it went perfectly with the walleye and my appetizer of fried pickles! I also tried the twice baked potatoes.. fabulous! This is a BBQ place so for all you out there who love BBQ this is a place for you. Whiskey River is great food and good times. Come try it for yourself!

Delicious ribs and my mother’s side salad was a great quality! The toast that came with the meal wasn’t great though and both chef’s potatoes we got were really dry, like the mixture needed some sour cream or milk. They needed more kinds of barbecue sauce on the table because one was far too sweet and tasted off ( likely due to whiskey, but that boils down to personal preference) and the other was good, but not great

We order the all-you-can-eat walleye. Mmm good. Waitress is helpful. Drink refills are slow. We will be back when we desire the walleye meal.
We have returned Sunday, June 23, 5pm. Ordered All-you-can-eat Walleye diner with 2 sides. Carrie was our waitress. Once we were settled in our booth she came to take our order. Walleye was tasty. We were served plenty of fish in a timely manner.
