We visited Jerk Kingz during our visit to NY and while the food was decent, the service truly stood out and made our experience memorable. We arrived close to closing time, and the owner personally came outside to let us know they’d be closing in 5 minutes, giving us a chance to place a to-go order. This level of thoughtfulness was exceptional and greatly appreciated.
We tried the Oxtails, Rice & Peas, Cabbage and Plantain along with the large Jerk Chicken plates. The Oxtails were a bit tougher than expected but overall, the meal was quite enjoyable. The warm hospitality and attentive service definitely made up for the shortcomings with the food. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers. We’re looking forward to giving them another try during regular hours— their service definitely deserves recognition!

Stopped by Jerk Kingz with my coworker during an early lunch, and we were seriously impressed! I got the jerk chicken platter with rice and peas – absolutely packed with flavor and the perfect amount of spice. The seasoning on the chicken was spot on, and everything was cooked to perfection. We also tried the patties, and I’ve got to say, they were hands down the best I’ve had so far. Super flaky crust (best crust I’ve had) with a tasty filling that hit all the right notes. Definitely coming back!

Bought beef soup, which i thought was red peas beef soup, so that was disappointing, but as far as taste goes, it was good. Love the deep dive into the Caribbean(Jamaican) history.

This is a positive review. I arrived at Jerk Kingz in Baldwin, LI at approximately 1120am. I ordered two meals med jerk chicken, rice peas and med curry chicken and cabbage dinners) for take out (pictured). The staff was welcoming, polite and friendly. The location ambience pleasantly quiet, clean, and colorful. There was indoor and out door seating available. Parking available right in front of the establishment. The pricess were the standard prices per dish. The dishes were seasoned well, well portioned, and fresh. I live near by and plan to visit again. If your looking for a caribbean dish, I recommend Jerk Kingz.

This is it…. I visited Jamaica 10 years ago and had some amazing jerk chicken. Since then I’ve been trying jerk at every place that sells it to compare. I’ve had jerk chicken from Philly, Wilmington Delaware, Washington DC, northern Virginia, Maryland, Miami FL, Tampa bay FL, and northern New Jersey. Nothing compared to Jamaica until now. Jerk kingz is as authentic as it gets!!! And the beef patties! OH MY LORD ITS GOOD!!!

The reviews didn’t disappoint! The food here was amazing!! The smell of the grill travels down the block and the hospitality is unmatched! Shaun and Sheldon go above and beyond to ensure you have the best experience and as a first time customer I’ll definitely be back! I ordered the jerk chicken meal and it came with rice & peas, cabbage, and got oxtail gravy on the rice. The sample had noodles, stewed pork, curry goat, and collard greens (which were sooo good!). I’m so glad I made the trip from Li to far rockaway

My SO and I tried this place for a weekday date night after getting a recommendation from a friend. I got the oxtail, which I loved despite it being expectedly pricey, and he got the goat curry, which he thought was decent. He can be a bit pickier than me though. I didn’t appreciate that my plantains were on the cold side but this is more of a takeout place so I forgive it. I took our leftovers and enjoyed them later. I’ll be back here to try other food items and the oxtail again.

Jerk Kings in Baldwin had the potential to be a great addition to my neighborhood, being a Jamaican restaurant and all. However, I was left thoroughly disappointed with my experience there. From the moment I walked in, I had high expectations given the name, only to find out that their jerk sauce lacked any kind of flavor or taste. It was nothing more than a bland disappointment.
The Mac and cheese, which is usually a staple in Jamaican cuisine, was another letdown. Overboiled and lacking any hint of salt, it was far from what I expected. To make matters worse, the cheese on top had congealed into a cheap mess, making the entire dish quite unappetizing. It was absolutely horrible.
I had anticipated a grand opening for Jerk Kings, but sadly, it turned out to be a grand closing in my book. The lack of flavor and poor quality of their dishes left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I hope they take these reviews into consideration and work on improving their recipes and overall dining experience.

I was pleasantly surprised how good the chicken was. I’ve never been there and stopped to get some jerk chicken. So good and a fair amount of food for the price.

Ordered food for my family from this place during their grand opening week. I had rasta pasta with jerk chicken and it was not good—at all. The rasta pasta was just overcooked pasta drenched in jerk sauce and some cheese. No peppers whatsoever. The chicken was also drenched in jerk sauce. My mouth was on fire. I had to make my own sweet sauce to subdue the flavor because the extra tiny “sweet sauce” they gave me was jerk sauce! Everyone in my family hated their food too saying it was too spicy and thought the chicken would be cooked on a grill and not baked. I’m definitely passing on this spot especially since the cashier messed up on one of our orders. She took no accountability and didn’t even fix the situation. The person dishing the food did and it wasn’t their fault. Definitely would not recommend.
