We hadn’t been to Elbert in years, so we cruised out to check out their Christmas Bazaar. First stop; lunch at the Naked Goat Cafe.

We told the young lady at the counter that it was our first time there and she was eager to help! (I learned that I happened to be there the ‘once a year’ they make their ‘turkey sliders’, so naturally I wanted to try that). We made our order and looked for a place to sit. Found one in the “soap shop” section, at the ‘big table’.

Food took awhile to get prepared but I was expecting that, so no shade given to them for that. Homemade food takes awhile and we didn’t go there for fast food. (had the food taken awhile and sucked, that would have been different, lol)

Food arrived (one of the charms of small town dining is that they just ‘find you’ when your order is ready… No name yelling, no buzzer…) and everyone grabbed their respective order and got busy. The initial expression on everyone’s face was absolute surprise; in a good way!

The Turkey Sliders were absolutely next level. It was like a miniature Thanksgiving dinner in every single bite! (you know the little snacky-snacks you make for yourself after the T-day carnage subsides? Yeah, THAT!)

The Classico was great; the fruit was fresh and I am pretty sure there was more than ‘two eggs’ in there. BLT was yummy too. BTW, whatever seasoning they use on the chips and such, is really good and a great ratio.

I felt like the prices were a little higher than expected but I think the experience and quality of food/staff balance it out.

It wasn’t until I was ready to leave that I realized they served mixed, adult drinks!! I cannot wait to come back and sample their Old Fashioned!

Give them a try. It’s not like you’d be coming here everyday. As an added bonus, sometimes you come out to your car and you have to wait for the deer to move, lol. Thanks for the cool experience! (I need to try that pie I saw come out too!)

A gem of place out in Elbert. The staff are all so attentive and Mark, the owner and chef, takes great pride in everything he makes. Don’t pass up the homemade bloody mary mix and the bacon – both are well worth the beautiful drive out there.

The cafe is also an adorable general store where we also restock on handmade soaps, lotions, and jams. Since trying the shampoo bars made by Gina, I don’t use anything else!

A little restaurant but big in flavor! Great sandwiches and great customer Service. The locals are very friendly! A little bit pricy but the food is good! In the same cafe they have goat soaps and creams. Behind this Cafe there is a presbiteriana church.

Love the Naked Goat. The food is very nice home made taste. My favorite is the club sandwich along with the chips. Add to that a glass bottle Coke and you’ve got a great lunch. Last time I was in, they had little baskets of doughnut holes which were a wonderful treat. It’s a true mom and pop restaurant (Daughter and Father I believe), so if you have a big group, maybe let them know in advance via E-mail you’re coming. Aside from the prepared food, they also have a great assortment of jams, jelly’s and sauces. Not to mention the side room with all the soap they make. Guarantee any woman who walks into the place will say the word “cute” at least a couple of times. One thing for sure, they have the best soap of any public bathroom I’ve ever been! Super nice people and my son loved that they have a couple of poke stops & gym near by for his Pokémon game.

The attendant was so friendly and professional! We had biscuits with honey butter and got the kids donut holes. Everything made in-house and tasted amazing. I loved the lavender lemonade and iced matcha latte. The soap shop has a great selection of soaps and essential oils. I highly recommend making your trip to visit this gem!

Amazing green chilli cheese fries. Everything homemade – chili and fresh cut fries. Shouldn’t have eaten lunch before coming here. Very generous portions. Yum!
